When I was in parliament I was appalled by the lack of knowledge people had about what colleges do - I have been a college student three times, West Lothian College changed my life - one MSP said colleges provide ‘Hobby Courses’ - it was class prejudice and ignorance

During the local elections I repeatedly heard from local pensioners across North Durham about the impact on their household finances of the means testing of the Winter Fuel Allowance. I am therefore very pleased that the Prime Minister has listened to the public on this issue and announced that because economic growth means the public finances are in a better place, the Government is able to review the income threshold for Winter Fuel Allowance. We heard you and we will be acting.

At 26 after losing his youth and saving your freedom he began his life

He paid £260,000 to help my mum die with dignity after she was a nurse during the war but got no help from Labour who were too busy pandering to Unions and giving folk more benefits
My dad was a socialist at 19 as his dad was
After the war he saw what socialism was and what it stood for - nothing but take and militancy
