Mr. President: I have a better idea. Instead of spending over a trillion dollars on never-ending wars abroad while plunging the working class into poverty here at home, let’s invest in universal childcare, Medicare for All and affordable housing. America first!
FactPost@factpostnews

Trump: We can't take care of daycare. We're a big country. We're fighting wars. It's not possible for us to take care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these things.

@ewarren Even if that were true and it's not, maybe the 6 trillion should fund or pay down existing programs v. that wishlist of programs.

The Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act would generate over $6 trillion over the next decade—without raising taxes on 99.85% of American households. This wealth tax for millionaires and billionaires could pay for universal child care, free community college, Medicare expansion, and more.

@theficouple literally the opposite of 2008. Too much inventory, trapped by escalating debt, dropping value. Now values running the other way with cheap mortgages and NO inventory.

Spoke with a couple from Columbus, OH. They paid $280k for a home in 2020 & that home is now $475,000. They got a 30 year, 3.75% mortgage. They now have 2 kids, need more space but a new home doubles their housing costs. ...They're trapped & millions are in this situation.

@YoungEx20 @MattisRedacted @DarrigoMelanie One time (because you lost yours) is not a poll tax. No reason they can't provide for one replacement for free if they are going to require it. We got our son's online for the $15, took a week. (he's not a voter, so now he has his when he becomes one). Not a poll tax

Accepted forms of ID to vote under the SAVE Act: 1. Enhanced REAL ID: Only available in 5 states. Costs up to $50 and requires a birth certificate which 40M Americans lack access to. 2. Valid passport: 146M Americans do not have and costs at least $130. Trump gutted the agencies issuing them. 3. U.S. military ID card presented with military record of service. 4. Government-issued photo ID showing place of birth: 300M Americans do not have one, and costs up to $50. 5. Non-Enhanced REAL ID driver’s license, state ID, or tribal ID shown in conjunction with a birth certificate (40M lack access to) that matches your last name (which 69M women do not have due to marriage) and other forms of documentation. Ironically, the states the SAVE Act hurts the most: West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. If the SAVE Act was actually a Voter ID bill, then it would propose making the validate forms of ID free and easily accessible, bringing it in line with the 24th Amendment. Until then, it’s just another Republican voter suppression bill, that makes registering to vote, voting, and ensuring your voting status harder.

146M Americans do not have a passport. 40M eligible voters do not have access to their birth certificate. 69M women do not have a birth certificate that matches their married name. The SAVE Act denies the right to vote for millions of Americans by requiring specific forms of ID that millions of U.S. citizens do not have, and requiring them to effectively pay a poll tax, which is illegal, in order to get those documents to vote. The SAVE Act is voter suppression. Republicans know that Trump has made them deeply unpopular, so they know they need to cheat to win.
Tim Burchett@timburchett

I can’t understand the problem with producing a valid ID to vote. The Democrats have been producing a death certificate to vote for years.

Why do closing costs vary with the price of the home? It's not like an $800,000 home has vastly more paperwork to file than a $200,000 home. Closing costs are a scam for companies to pocket more of your money.

When we accept that things will be as they have always been, we allow the past to direct the future instead of allowing our dreams, hopes, desires, and goals to drive our present toward that future.
