@__TheTrillest_ @mistonvinyl Neither Dorothy Dandridge OR Lena Horne passed for white in Hollywood. As a matter of fact, Hollywood didn’t even know what to do with them. They were too pretty to be maids and to Black to be leading women. And Lena Horne specifically was a VERY proud Black woman.

Halle Berry low-key started the erasure of fully black women in Hollywood but I’ll get into that another day

@ModestTeacher Secondary school is 50 minute chunks of time. Eight different teachers each day. No flexibility in the schedule. The ability to spontaneously just "go outside" or have Friday Fun is difficult in a core class with standards to be met and state tests to pass.

Kids often see elementary school as “fun” and secondary school as “boring.” What’s the disconnect?
