I really struggle with this. If you actually know me, and follow along with my posts on Twitter, you know that it pains me to say this to those with higher voice than me. I think this take is in bad faith, Noob, honestly I do. I'm not looking down on any creator. I'm simply asking for help. I want this community to come to the conclusion and understanding that what we are currently doing isn't enough. You on the other hand, seem to take a lot of offense to me asking this and I'm not really sure why.

As members of the #SeaOfThieves community, I believe it's our duty to use our voices and our actions for positive change. The Sea of Thieves community has failed to protect multiple victims at seprate occasions and that needs to be both highlighted and addressed. 1/?

It's now been two weeks since this document was released and yet Rare has still done nothing to address this situation. Meanwhile, Partners and creators continue to platform this game and hide behind "waiting for Rare." How long will you wait? 2 more weeks? Months? Years? The evidence is right in front of your face. For two weeks myself, and others, have posted, shown proof and explained that this situation was enabled by Rare staff, contractors, and those closest to them. *** I'm asking this community to stop platforming this game. *** If you are a content creator for SoT, please stop. I know this is a big ask. I know you enjoy playing this game and the community that it brings. I realize that there is a brand new shiny update. It's selfish of me to ask you this. I get it. But please understand that until something major is actually done, until creators ACTUALLY take action, Rare is going to string along this community and hide behind the guise of needing time to investigate for months or even likely years. They are banking on you forgetting about this. There are actions that can be taken TODAY that do not defy the legal process and they are refusing to take them. Please stop giving them an out. Please hold them accountable. Your voice and actions matter. Unfortunately, I think we need to do more than what we are currently doing.

It is wildly disappointing to me how many people are happy to let Rare sweep the whole we-platformed-a-pedophile thing under the rug for access to drops and a new game mode. They are banking on you guys losing interest in accountability, and it's working. #rare #seaofthieves

The Sea of Thieves Official Discord has to take accountability. Looking back at the context of the shit that Bruno was allowed to post and say to people is extremely disturbing... This gif reference is used HUNDREDS of times in the 38k messages that were sent. Typically during discussions regarding sexual topics (which is prohibited according to the rules). Users in the Discord were actively tagging moderators, saying they were uncomfortable...all ignored.

@AlmtyChcknPoo Everybody is growing silent about this. The Devs are tweeting as normal. CM team remains. Discord mods muting people. SoT blocking accounts on twitter to silence people. People not willing to boycott. Partners not stepping down. They are getting away with it, it's sick.

Another based take by Nessie. It really could be the solution to this entire mess. I personally think at the end of this J0toro is gone as well, but I'm not sure how the other pieces will fall. Truthfully, that's where the mess is. There are still problem people on the team who need to go, or nothing will change for the better. Down deep, I truly want what's best for SoT and always have wanted that. Fake wholesome does not accomplish that, pure criticism and change where necessary does.

I genuinely don’t see any future where j0toro goes back to business as usual. Also that Discord has always been a mess of power hungry freaks. “1984” used to be a banned word in there lol. I like Nessie’s idea of all the mods and CMs being anonymous in there and keeping it strictly professional instead of swinging their egos around.

Incorrect, they are all in the same boat. Currently, the Community Management Team has made zero noticeable changes. So the entire company must suffer in order to bring change at that point. Otherwise, it is no different than the enabling behaviors of the CM Team from the Bruno situation, "we lack sufficient evidence, proceed as planned." We as consumers DEMAND change, whether they think it's necessary or not, and if you choose to ride the fence, or give a middle ground take on this, you are part of the problem and defending their behaviors as well. Selling out morals, for what? Some cosmetics? A few hours of fun? Be part of something bigger than yourself and demand real change and accountability from Rare, for once. Hold them to their hollow words or face the fallout. Do NOT attack the dev team or other teams, but definitely boycott and be vocal about your disgust of this to them. Make sure they all know how we feel as a community since the Community Management Team is so terrible at their job duties. I don't want my message to send mixed signals. But they should not get ANY support from us until this is corrected.

I agree Happy should have been immediately removed. I also 100% agree that it is a process and may take several weeks. My comments stem from the way that the others involved behaved once they were granted their perms back on Monday. It was back to business as usual for the most part, with very little change. The only reasonable change so far has been Jo not being involved, or as it seems. How long is long enough, though? 1 week? 2 weeks? 1 month? 6 months? Are we still going to be muting people for speaking about criticisms in 2 months while Shirah tried to talk about drinking coffee or tea or giving wrong information about skeleton ships?

Happy admitted to things himself on stream, and spent the next few hours raging at what was left of his community. He continued to stay in the partner program and received the benefits that came with it until he eventually quit SOT as a whole. At least in this situation when the full truth came out he was banned instantly, and they completely removed the boatswain role a few days later. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not over until j0toro (and a few others maybe) are gone, but like I said that can’t happen right away. It’s a process. We unfortunately have to wait and see.

@KingHotdogPig It's been 8 years, and some of the ones responsible were already back to their old ways within the hour of being given their perms back. Plan your next course of action accordingly, or expect the next similar situation to arise.

Again, (and maybe I wasn’t clear in my initial tweet) that’s why I keep reiterating that the CMs & Mods who have behaved in that way NEED to be fired and removed. I don’t trust if they stayed that they wouldn’t fall back to their old practices. Fire them. There’s no other way out of this mess I have no doubt you mean well, and I’m not trying to invalidate anything you’re saying. But I am saying we need to direct this energy and momentum towards the Community Management side of Rare. Not the entire company and especially not those who gave us the game we all love. I get wanting to boycott, but we need to be vocal about wanting new and better CMs. No more HR karens who don’t belong in the games industry

I think this situation has much more attention than the happyfeetz situation ever had, not to mention that this has Rare directly involved with platforming a person into a position AFTER being shown signs of Brunos behaviors Happyfeetz details came out much later, and they merely avoided the subject. I'm not saying either is right, but one is graphically far more vile and sinister than the other. And sure, I'm being holier than thou....as a parent of two, this subject has me livid that this ever made it that far with warning signs all over. So sorry for that, I guess?

Yeah they’re definitely going to go on a firing spree and fire everyone after a weekend. I will continue playing the game they tried to stop me from playing for 5 years (when I feel like it) and I will continue to be vocal against the CMs and other issues at Rare. This isn’t even their first rodeo with a situation like this, we all kept playing. You can stop pretending to be holier than thou at any time lol

I have the massive respect for Drew, and in recent times, for the development team for what they are trying to accomplish after so many years of incompetence. Truthfully, Rare doesn't deserve Drew. My only reason for these comments is this, I fear they continue to just ignore the issues and silence the chatter. Then out comes the CMs talking about drinking their coffee again and back to handing out more bans/mutes, business as usual. Back to having their little cliques of protected friends with no accountability handed out.

@ChaserGolden I understand what you're saying, but imagine people like Drew trying to make the game better and then seeing all the effort fade away because of the CM team who can't be professional. I understand the reasons to boicott the game, but I do not agree with it.

So you want to continue to direct your action to the very ones that silence, mute, censor, and call any criticism "bullies and trolls" and expect change to come from those people. You said it yourself. It's a corporation. They care about profits, numbers, viewers, and data. If you do not hit them in the place they care about, there will be no change. Within the hour of the CMs coming back, they were back to their antics. The company either succeeds together or fails together. It's that simple.

Respectfully disagree golden. This statement is once again another post to muddy the waters, and allow the CM team to go right back to behaving as they have been Saying “the entire company must suffer” is targeting people who had nothing to do with this, instead of those responsible for allowing it to happen in the first place. Working at the same company does not mean shared authority or shared responsibility Companies are massive machines with hundreds of moving parts. If one part is bad, you don’t just destroy the entire machine, you replace the part We the community need to stay united and be precise in where we direct any calls to action and wants for change. Otherwise, it ends up shielding the people who actually need to be held accountable

I'll be honest, I see that as a display of virtue signaling more than anything else outside of the Boatswains that no longer wanted to associate with the sicko. Or the Partners protesting with viewerships numbers. A much louder message for a regular player is not playing the game or supporting them in any manner. The rest is just "look what a good person I am," imo. No hate to those that did, though.
