Interesting anecdote by @RaunakRK on air during #GTvsKKR on how Jos Buttler regained his form. Gujarat Titans were instrumental in that, with Vikram Solanki and Matthew Hayden noticing small stuff. It needed minor adjustments, but Buttler wasn't sighting the ball well earlier - and then he was.
Which is great to hear. But also begs the question: what were England doing when he had lost form? Why weren't these things noticed by their highly paid coaching staff?

Even without El Niño, the current SST configuration in the Atlantic is not one that I would associate with a busy hurricane season, with a classic -AMO horseshoe showing up in the global-mean-removed anomaly plots. We should see some warming of the MDR over the next two weeks as trade winds slow, but overall it looks like the Atlantic is probably going to be the coolest it's been during hurricane season since ~2018-2019.

A few hours ago, the eye of Super Typhoon #Sinlaku passed over the island of Saipan (CNMI). A @wunderground PWS station on the island reported pressure data from the eye of the storm, with a minimum pressure of 917 mbar (bias-corrected) being reported at 1420Z!

While the AWS on Saipan has not reported any pressure data in a few hours, a Davis Vantage Pro 2 station on Saipan is still reporting data (wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/…). The station is currently reporting 937mb but seems to be running ~13mb too high compared to the AWS 8mi to its SW.
