No one should question Michael Edwards, ever. The majority of us probably wouldn't have even had Slot in our top ten for Klopp replacements before he was announced, and he's the only one he offered the job to. One of, if not the most, knowledgeable minds in the whole sport.

Slot’s Liverpool genuinely the most exciting team in the league, stylistically to me. The measured approach before it springs into life like that. It’s just proper.

I rarely appeal to authority like this but Michael Edwards simply knows more about football than you. Don’t bother challenging what he thinks. It is futile. Just learn from him. His analysis is more holistic than yours and he has thought about more avenues than you. Avenues like knowing that Slot is not too radical a change from Klopp so he can still utilise the current squad profiles but that he comes with additional benefits compared to recent Klopp seasons in terms of managing game-state better, judging the risk-reward of the long ball better & profiling players into their more effective areas of the pitch/roles.
