Police Seize $2 Million in Stolen Cannabis, Arrest Five in Cargo Theft Investigation
Five men have been charged following a major cargo theft investigation that led to the recovery of more than $2 million worth of stolen cannabis products, according to York Regional Police.
The charges stem from an incident on April 15, 2026, when officers from the Auto Cargo Theft Unit (ACTU) were conducting an investigation in the area of McLaughlin Road and Highway 401 in Mississauga. During the operation, investigators located a trailer that had previously been reported stolen from the Niagara Region.
Police say the trailer was carrying a large shipment of cannabis products that had been en route to multiple dispensaries at the time it was stolen.
While at the scene, officers identified several individuals believed to be connected to the stolen trailer. Five men were subsequently arrested. During searches conducted as part of the arrests, investigators also recovered two illegal firearms.

At this point, the USA needs to ban Canadian booze.
90% of Canadian booze is exported to the USA.
Its crazy that we ban US booze, flaunt it and talk shit about it...... but the Americans are still allowing ours in.
I’ll be joining CNN’s @wolfblitzer at 11:30 AM to make clear that the only way for the U.S. to get its alcohol back onto Ontario shelves is to drop its tariffs on Canada.
@6ixbuzztv The speed of which THIS is handled due to safety concerns vs nothing being doing about literal crime in this city over the last 10 years is absolutely offensive and appalling. FUCK this city.
