Haven't read 18 pages, but sounds like @Linux_Mint is going to roll over and turn age verification into a technical bikeshed instead of rejecting it outright.
Have been using and putting friends onto Mint for years, but it may be time to move on soon.😞

Today was the Cherry Blossom Festival here in Nashville, which is an annual event that celebrates Japanese culture 🇯🇵🌸
After spending 3 months in Tokyo last year, I was curious to see what a Japanese-inspired event would look like in America.
The first thing that I noticed, however, was that other attendees were disproportionately overweight white women. And among the people dressed up for the event, they were almost exclusively obese white women with colorful hair.
This struck me as strange, because this is not what the average person in Nashville looks like. Despite being in the south, Nashville is a relatively lean city. I definitely think that the Cherry Blossom Festival itself was attracting a specific type of crowd.
And I find that so curious, because these overweight, unkempt women were clearly fans of Japanese culture and esthetics, but they simultaneously couldn't have been further from embodying Japanese beauty.
Japanese women tend to be lean, feminine, well-groomed, reserved, and modest. The women at the Festival were basically the complete opposite of that. It seemed like they thought they could just put on a costume and emulate Japanese culture, but what they failed to realize is that Japanese culture is considered so beautiful and desirable because it's disciplined. It's precise. It's intentional.
From the looks of it, these are not values that any of these women hold dear. The image of a tattooed, 300 pound woman, with unbrushed hair, spilling out of an anime cosplay outfit is... jarring, to say the least, because it goes against so much of what makes Japanese culture Japanese.
It seemed like they believed Japanese culture was beautiful, but didn't understand that that beauty took work and a certain character to achieve. Work they weren't willing to do, and a character they weren't interested in aspiring to.
And the fact that this type of woman is so interested in Japan is also strange to me, considering that Japan possesses a lot of the same qualities that these women likely complain about when it comes to America.
Japan is an ethnonationalist country with strict immigration. They are tough on crime. They are socially conservative. They value social cohesion and personal responsibility.
These qualities are all strengths when it comes to Japan, but these women, once more, all but certainly oppose such practices in America, failing to understand that Japanese success isn't an accident. It's specifically thanks to these policies.
In any case, I don't share these thoughts to body shame anyone, but rather to note how, despite their apparent interest in Japanese culture, western liberals are essentially its polar opposite. Esthetically, politically, and socially.

Article 175 of the Penal Code is currently a hot topic in Japan. This law prohibits the dissemination or display of "obscene material" to an unspecified or large number of people. For example, selling uncensored depictions of genitalia, even in manga form, is highly likely to result in arrest and severe penalties. Overseas users may have also seen parts of Japanese content blacked out or blurred. Even Japanese people cannot explain what benefits these censorship practices bring to society. While I do not advocate for conforming cultural practices to those of other countries, this practice, which is inexplicable even to Japanese people, should be changed, and I would like to bring it up for discussion in the Diet.
STOP!

Thankfully I was aware of this scam going around and avoided one of these scam attempts from someone very recently. Stay Safe. If ANYONE randomly asks you to catch up via zoom tell them to eat a lemon.

Not “2c.” Five lies.
First, I was sued by COPA. That is not conjecture, not gossip, not some theatrical invention for the benefit of the dull and the malicious. It is a fact. One does not begin with a whisper and call it proof; one begins with the record.
Second, Bitcoin does not fork. What occurred with BCH was not some mystical flowering of protocol evolution, but the beginning of a hash war instigated by those who wished to fracture what they could not control. Disorder, when dressed in technical language, does not become principle. The changes were to add and I quote "illegal gaming" and "child porn" support.
Third, the protocol is fixed. That is the whole point. A system worthy of trust is not a weather vane twitching at every gust of fashion, panic, or opportunism. It stands because it is set. On that point, there is only one position that is internally coherent: the one that does not seek to rewrite the rules whenever convenience demands it.
Fourth, like BCH, the pattern is always the same. First comes the deviation, then the excuse, then the grandiose sermon explaining why failure is really innovation. It is the creed of the mediocre: break the thing, rename the wreckage, and demand applause for the debris.
Fifth, yes, scared, basically. That is the substance beneath the noise. Not confidence. Not certainty. Fear. Fear of a fixed protocol, fear of accountability, fear of history, fear of the fact that truth does not bend merely because enough frightened men agree to lie about it.
So no, not “2c.”
Five lies.

These are the main reasons why I stay away from BSV (Bitcoin Satoshis Vision). If I'm wrong, please educate me.
1. Craig Wright who leads BSV is a narcissistic, litigious fraudster. I just have zero confidence in that man as he has lied and played dirty tricks on so many people. To me it seems his main goal with BSV is to enrich himself.
2. Rather than forking peacefully from then struggling BCH, Craig and Calvin Ayre (another shady character) tried to wipe out BCH in a dirty surprise hash war. This is unforgivable.
3. Centralization. There is a cult around fraudster CSW and development is controlled by private company N-chain.
4. Although there are good people in the community, a lot of the support seems artificial/astroturfed.
5. Scaling is great but BSV promises of "mega scaling NOW" seem reckless to me. BCH strikes a good balance.
Just my two cents.
