Mi-24P seized by Rebels in Mali is really just a wreck. In fact it appears to be the very same aircraft that crashed in Kidal area on 26th July 2024 and now its identity became known. Clearly it was moved into some military base after crash and abandoned

Seems like Ukraine is investing a lot into its Mi-8 fleet. Below is one of 4 Mi-17Ms donated by Slovakia, two were airworthy (0844 and 0847), while the other two were stored for a few years while awaiting general overhaul. Seems like either 0807 or 0821 finally got one in Ukraine

Still from the beginning of the same video shows ex-Croatian Mi-8MTV-1 with at least some of the same modifications as Mi-17-1V above (not all are visible from cameraman point of view) plus MG installed in the nose.

Another civilian standard Hip brought to full military config by Ukraine. Repainted ex-Latvian Mi-17-1V with full protecion suite and weapons pylons. Previously UA made same effort with ex-Croatian Mi-8MTV-1s. Latvia donated all 4 of their Mi-17s to UA. x.com/DefenceU/statu…

@CalibreObscura @magictouch190 No idea about the pylons, though they had plenty of them before as large number of upgraded Mi-8MSB-Vs is equipped with them (original Mi-8Ts had different pylons that are not used anymore). Wiring and control interfaces for weapons and countermeasures have to be installed.

The Taliban air force Mi-8MTV-1 serial 792 crashed in the province of Ghor on Wednesday, 15 May 2024. Delivered to the Soviet-supported regime in the 80s or early 90s, this machine was one of the oldest-serving helicopters in Afghanistan.

@trip_to_valkiri @TarasChmut The one visible in Georgian TAM was not in service in Hungary at the time: either it was sold and refurbished for another owner or used as source of spare parts by plant. Mi-24s that are being retired were overhauled in Russia in 2018-2019 i think

Doesn’t match the appearance of any of the previously seen 3 Black Hawk airframes in Ukrainian service. This one has no national markings and QR / IFF paint but does have a nose radome
