In my opinion keeping a happy / motivated camp is a huge part of the role of a head coach Tony - Right near the top of the Job description for any leader in any team sport. Even in individual sports the motivation that the coach gives athlete can make them over achieve. Skills and tactics are massively important but that mentally strong highly motivated happy player can often over achieve.

@Checkfish My thoughts are both sets of players look unhappy and lost. Can that only be down to Hollioake and Ainsworth?

The modern day player is a fragile beast Warren. They will have a variety of things they are not happy about I’m sure One thing is for sure that if they believe they have no future then that doom and gloom spreads across the dressing room and affects the morale in the camp. I’m convinced some of that has been behind the piss poor performances since the Autumn. Not like it was back in the day unfortunately

As a group and we are fighting for each other, because clearly this has happened not once not twice but three times now. This is not just coincidence. So for me I just want one player to come out and give us a reason why this happened. Time to stop hiding and be brave.

I think up until more recently you’re 100% right Fish. However, in the last few seasons under the Galinsons we’ve signed the likes of Clark, Smith, Andrews, McKenzie, Nevitt, Turner, Khumbeni and this past January Hale all on multi year contracts. They’ve all either been northern born and or based for most of their careers until coming to us, is so perhaps the takeover has made us a more viable option for those geographically not as close?

Not much point in posting after this defeat, GITB has summed it up in a nutshell. A good #Gills side wins that by half time. We just don’t have the guile and nous to finish off sides. A massive summer ahead for Ainsworth with no margin for error after a dismal year of failure.

@AdamWesgate @RobHawley81 @GillsInTheBlood @StuartLewis66 I think our geographic location plus property prices in the SE limits us to southern based players in the main. The northern lads often find it hard to settle and relocate with families etc etc esp when you are playing from contract to contract. It isn’t straightforward

@RobHawley81 @Checkfish @GillsInTheBlood @StuartLewis66 I'm not sure we're that unattractive for the level. We're lucky with geography and pay well. The only negative for us is that players who've played well previously largely haven't for us. On the plus side though more youngsters are coming through so I think it's being addressed.

The season is over but still bloody annoying losing when you have played well enough to win it !!

@TheGillsFC as this season closes disappointment has reigned supreme. After the hope (which kills you) of going 21 unbeaten we have been treated to some dross or as the big fella says shit. But for the 54th season I remain optimistic for a better season next season...

Togetherness in the dressing room. But it's also down to us as fans. Buy your season ticket buy your match day tickets support the club every way you can. But the best way is always to ensure the ground is noisy as full as it can be and as horrible for the opposition as we can

@TheGillsFC lots of negativity and quite rightly since 1st January but if you really support the club you will buy your season ticket regardless. @BradGalinson has said it how it is but the season ticket money is what's going to support change in the summer.
