@jpalmiotti Agree. Newer covers are pretty, and I respect the art, but menacing Batman pose variation number 10017 (each with quadruple variant covers all tge same-ish)has lost me. Once upon a time I could at a glance tell you not just the story, but where/when I bought the book... 1/2

Imagine comic covers still had this manic energy? Instead we are getting cool poses that mean nothing to the inside of the book. I miss these days of seeing this on the rack and it being impossible to pass up.

@sarobertsonca Ranting (even if right) about the 1% makes him feel like he peaked in 2011. I'm not saying reinvent the wheel, but when your party already suffers from a lack of relevancy maybe try and sound like you're bringing new ideas to the table as the new guy.

@ComeOnSense4 I saw this often while working in Ottawa even of all places. It's not even about mastering French in this instance, but rather about a complete lack of effort.

Tone deaf comment on your part. The company I work for, based in Quebec, has offices and workers throughout the Canada. We have a meeting with 10 people; 9 of them are native French speaking, 1 speaks English. Guess who always switches language? Yeah, it’s ALWAYS the French-speaking people who switch to English, even if they know they are poor at it have a horrible accent. Stop being crybabies and do like most French Canadians: learn the other language! Geez!

Mr. Rousseau is expressing what millions of Canadians who don’t know french and have tried to learn it feel. What I am tired of is that a few elites (in Ontario primarily) get to tell the 80% of Canadians who don’t speak french fluently that we need to sit on the sidelines. It’s time for a conversation about what 2 official languages actually means. What’s transpired over the last few days is not about the communication or language but about control.

@gavinguidry I don’t use twitter much anymore. I tweeted this & walked away & worked on a new comic series. Logged in a day later, giggled at the absurdity of people getting worked up about this. Remembered why I don’t use twitter much anymore, then flew interstate to work on a feature film.

I love Batman. I’m literally the writer of Detective Comics. He’s one of the top heroes in the world. Dinah Lance is a better fighter than him. So is Cass Cain. Batman doesn’t need you to defend him. He’s Batman.

We're both posting this on a platform owned/supported by a man who has harmed many, using phones no doubt made by people paid less than a living wage, etc... where do you draw the line? Potter is fairly pure in and of itself, if it bring joy why not enjoy it? 2/2

I like Rachel, but I think separating art & artists is always going to be a complicated endeavour- plus people are never just one thing- Rowlings obsession with trans people is trash, but she has & continues to do good as well.. I dunno, the world's complicated- 1/

@LiamPrice413 @WilliamShatner Also worth considering that before Discovery Star Trek shows all had 20+ episode seasons- thats a lot of extra time to devote to character development when you can give A & B stories to characters multiple times a season. Now time is at a premium.

@WilliamShatner Even among so many fans of Next Gen and Enterprise, you'll hear "Oh, it gets good in Season 3". Season 3, you say?! Well, shows that get cancelled after 1 Season airs and only get to produce 2 don't really get a chance to hit that, do they! TNG and ENT wouldn't exist today!

And when the Next Gen came out; there was tons of hate because it “wasn’t Star Trek” and the cast probably was in fear from the fans. Again when the series with Bakula came out, it too was panned by the fans because it “wasn’t Star Trek.” Star Trek is different for everyone. 🤷🏼

...to a show that even the streamer won't stand behind (plus who wants a show to end on a cliff hanger?). A least this got its first season done before they pulled the plug- i remember being psyched for Cowboy bebop & Jupiters Legacy and Netflix killed those after a week. 2/2

I get why actors & crew need to know, but for the life of me I'll never understand why streamers are so quick to ANNOUNCE a cancellation- You've got a product in the can , maybe give it time to find an audience if you're still going to release it as many won't give time... 1/2

@ronmarz ...Then cancel the omnibuses as people aren't buying as they already have the epics/vice-versa...? DC also does this and I find it sometimes creates apprehension to start something new before its done. 2/2

Many reasons to rightfully exclude Cherry, but Sen Adler is right, and while divisive, there was an era where he was beloved & iconic. He also did a lot of good. There probably is a place for Cherry in the Order of Canada, but maybe more palatable posthumously.
