@CheezusUrLord @dnpscrn @Theurgyer @visegrad24 International law is selectively enforced. Japan expanded Okinotorishima with no serious consequences from the same powers now condemning China. Condemning China while ignoring comparable behavior reveals that this is geopolitics dressed as law, not principled legal enforcement.

@MackinleyZamora Have you ever asked, how many OFWs are in hong kong, Taiwan, and Macau? If you are willing to risk the lives of millions of OFWs by bombing chinese vessels then by all means be my guest… Indonesia do not have millions of their country men in china.

P130/LITER FOR DIESEL NEXT WEEK? Another double-digit surge in diesel prices is expected next week, with an increase estimated at P14 to P14.50 per liter, according to an industry source. This threatens to push diesel prices toward the P130-per-liter mark, following an increase of over P20 per liter this week. Gasoline, meanwhile, may rise by P7 to P7.50 per liter, potentially pushing it past P100 per liter next week. | @brixlelis

The West’s and Israel’s war against Iran is having an impact on the entire world. In the Philippines, fuel prices are rising, and anti‑American and anti‑Israeli sentiment is spreading. Protesters clashed with police on Roxas Boulevard in Manila as they attempted to march toward the U.S. Embassy to protest what they described as arrogance and the attack on Iran.

THE US EDCA BASES RISK Right now, the Iranians together with the Houthis, and soon Hezbollah have launched retaliatory missile strikes on targets across multiple countries including Israel, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, with unconfirmed reports of similar strikes on Saudi Arabia and Jordan that signaled the beginning of what Iran called Operation Lion’s Roar. These responses came after the US and Israel conducted preemptive air strikes against Iranian targets most of which were in Iran’s capital city of Tehran. Unlike the 12-day war in June 2025 when the Iranians employed what military analysts call escalation ladder where the protagonists calculate responses based on the severity of the enemy’s actions — this time Iran did not. Instead, the Iranian response was quick and surgical. Within minutes Iran launched almost simultaneous missile strikes to multiple targets across multiple locations in different countries in the Gulf region. Most, if not all of the targets were US military bases. In this context, we now have a prime example of the risks associated with hosting US military bases and personnel. Currently, we know of nine EDCA sites spread across the Philippines. These defacto US military bases with some of them hosts to the nuclear capable Typhon Missile System are for one thing only : as American Forward Operating Bases in preparation of a US-China war in the South China Sea. Should that hot war between the two nuclear superpowers erupt over Taiwan, these EDCA sites will be painted as high priority targets by the Chinese in either a preemptive or retaliatory strike against the Americans. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. The Americans did it in Ukraine. They did it in the Middle East. They’ve done it in the Philippines and in the Indo-Pacific. Do not — for a minute — think we are the exception.

The headline is unintentionally hilarious: “Welcome to CHINA” pops up on Philippine officials’ phones, a rare moment when reality does the talking for them. Let’s be honest: Manila should be grateful it’s China they’re provoking, not the United States. Try this exact stunt with Washington, and you wouldn’t get a roaming alert, you’d get a memorial service. Ten Philippines wouldn’t be enough to rebuild what the U.S. would flatten. The only reason Manila can still perform toughness for Reuters is because China has restraint. They mistake patience for weakness, but deep down they know exactly who’s keeping them alive.
