Due Diligence. In the snow. @RailsConf in the Motor City. I’m cold and I’ve been up since 4AM.

Love to hear any good/bad/indifferent experiences you've had at previous RailsConf's or other events. Really want to make this a terrific celebration of our framework (+ ourselves). Your ideas can make it great(er). PLEASE email me (andy@rubycentral.org) your thoughts + Qs.

@rubyconf The Ruby community is so welcoming and supportive. It’s a great conference for new developers. Remember to give yourself grace & celebrate the little wins. Say hello to any of the organizers, speakers, and volunteers! They love to help new conference goers find their groove❤️

When in conversation with someone, if you’re thinking about what you’re going to say next or what your rebuttal will be, are you even really listening?

@headius @railsconf (Co-chair RailsConf) 👋🏻 we have a programming committee who blindly reviews our sessions. It’s a different group of people for each conference. I do think you may have identified a hole in the system, how to make sure all relevant groups are represented. feedback is super helpful

So apparently my JRuby on Rails talk was rejected for @RailsConf 2023. The first RailsConf where we have a fresh new JRuby release with support for Ruby 3.1 and Rails 7...with production JRuby on Rails deployments dating back over 15 years. I guess I don't know what they want.

@headius @railsconf We’re always looking to improve our process and just a reminder we’re all humans here, who makes mistakes. We all care a lot about the community and want this conference to be about the people who make It great.

The scholars and guides program is such an awesome opportunity for both new and returning rubyists! If you've never been to a Ruby Central conference before apply to be a scholar... If you've been before (even just once) apply to be a guide...

Bryce Simonds, a RubyConf 2022 Scholar, shares why the Scholars and Guides program is important and why others should apply. 🚨 The deadline to be a #RailsConf2023 scholar is February 20th. rubycentral.org/news/rubyconf2… #railsconf #rails #rubyonrails rubycentral.org/news/rubyconf2…
