@DiscussingFilm They've probably been looking for a reason to replace him

8 years later, let's all admit Red Dead Redemption 2 is a terrible game polygon.com/red-dead-redem…

English

@baldhead1126 Lol thats fair, it's definitely not a surprise
English

@ChelseaBytes Oh I understand but at the end of the Day we knew this was coming!
English

@baldhead1126 You're confusing legal ownership and functional ownership
English

@5elect5creen YUP! It does be happening and giving them even more control sounds wild

We had it good. Bring back physical media and actual ownership. Fuck renting and subscription models.

@Sora8501 Big same, I cherish my disc collection and this is yet another reason ill be holding off next gen
English

@ChelseaBytes Not from me they're not. I ain't selling any games I do physically own and I won't be buying the PS6. They lost me with this stunt entirely
English

No one is ignoring your stance, which i responded to directly... Just your unrelated rant at the top. Regardless, hoping a large corporation will start looking out for consumers after historically and actively stripping away their choices is certainly a take. Guess we'll see. Have a good one 👍
English

@ChelseaBytes Ignore my stance all you want, won't change anything.
We obviously disagree. Also, you're talking about what Sony has done and may be currently doing and pretending like that'll be a norm in the future which you don't know.
Wait until they unveil their plans for PS6...
English

Ignoring your weird rant about modders doing what they want with a game they own... and Nevermind the the fact that many of the digital players you mention have complained before about losing access to their games for various reasons.
We don't need to wait for Sony's future plans lol, we already know how they operate. They charged $80 for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered digitally while removing the $20 original version from the store. They already charge a premium for digital games compared to physical retail sales. Giving them total control over the supply chain by removing discs will only accelerate those anti-consumer practices.
English

@ChelseaBytes I personally don't care for the free ecosystem you speak of, because I'm not a modder nor do I respect people that do that. Free online, sure — but we have no idea what Sony's plans are for PSN going forward until that's unveiled. Digital console players have been fine for years.
English

Unironically, yes. But you're missing the distinction between legal ownership and functional ownership. PC players largely don't own their games either. But they get an open ecosystem, free online, and mods/tools to make up for it. Console players are losing physical ownership while still being forced to pay $70+ for digital games on a closed storefront with zero competition, where you can't loan games and a ban can effectively erase your game library.
English

@ChelseaBytes So you mean to say PC players haven't owned their games since whenever PC gaming became a thing? 😱
English

@Dexerto Acting like they cant improve the underlying security while keeping the classic interface is a choice.
English

@DiscussingFilm How does one get into this hobby without becoming broke in the process?
