Raised money independently. Shot it on location in Oakland. The film premiered at Sundance 2018. Annapurna acquired it. Critics called it one of the most original American debuts in years. Riley wrote the music and the album before making the film. If Boots Riley had waited for Hollywood to find him, Sorry to Bother You never gets made. Think about that.

Add all Melee characters and reskin the Melee-esque stages and you've essentially got Melee on Steam without having to download Dolphin and the bonos benefit of having all controllers work.

Holding shield around La Reina is essentially asking to be grabbed
For a game that during the beta and first couple months had so many people complaining about shields being too broken, having a character bypass shields entirely in her neutral is SO refreshing

Unfortunately this comes with the comorbidity of our "post-sick" culture--a population of players who have been told to camp harder, play lamer, let the other guy do something first. Dash-dancing under a platform. The romance of the unoptimal, expressive playstyle has faded. Combo vids and highlights are staged, passé, impractical. Now there are YouTube guides and tier lists, coaching from old heroes. Bad players. Incurious minds. Dim brains fervently grasping to make their mark on a dying world. To push against the earth on which they have so little power, and to feel it give way. To win quietly, without impressing anyone, and silently wait for the glaciers to melt. Waiters. Needers.
