It doesn’t matter if you live with your relatives, friends, roommates or romantic partner… chores will always be a big fucking deal. Even women who think they can do it all often underestimate how much domestic labour will consume them, especially when they start having kids. It can negatively impact your mental health, sex life, work life, social life, even physical health. You swallow so much until it bleeds into anger and resentment. It’s not “just chores.”
The Jessica Nana Adjoa Asamoah@theJessicaA_

My father said I should tell you all that Twitter is not honest about marriage conversations. And he’s not expecting you people to be honest because you haven’t been married before but he wants you to know as a marriage counsellor that chores is a problem plaguing marriages.

In Brazil, instead of shaving body hair which grows back quickly and creates stubble, they bleach it into a soft-focus golden fuzz that looks especially pretty on tan skin. It’s called banho de lua, or “moon bath.”

@fueki_lee @Oluwamidunsin You’re not as detailed with his daily contributions as you are w yours. We have a clear picture of your daily routine; wake up time, before & after work chores plus weekends. With him, you only list the car washing, kids bathed and fed, and that he has them when you're on call.

I'm a Surgical resident So I usually wake up 4:30am- 5am. I make breakfast for the kids Make lunch for the entire family I wash the dishes, I use in making the meals.. If there is light I run several loads of laundry. While the laundry is running, I clean the kitchen and then sweep the parlour. Then the kids are fed, bathe and we dress and are out of the house so I can make morning review by 7:30am after school run. After work, I make dinner, wash all the plates and coolers used to carry food, wash the kids uniforms, arrange the clothes for the next day, help kids with assignments if present, do some work that needs to be done... Weekends, if im not on call, I wake up early, wash dishes, make break fast, do laundry, clean the kitchen counters the stores, clean the microwave, clean freezer if dirty, clean the gas cooker and the wall behind the gas cooker. Scrub the kitchen floors and then move to the front of the house scrubs the stairs, the balcony and then the parlour is next, then toilets, then clean the rooms and then fold the laundry that has been piling up (I never finish).... By the time you are done, your toddlers have already destroyed one room and the parlour, so you either start again or leave it for tomorrow.

@Helios_Movement Yeah - this is why the Cindella protocol is the Cindella (ALA), Vit C, and glutathione. I wish good injectable vit C was easy to find, it's all bullshit ascorbic acid.

I've read WAY too many studies to immediately remember that they used vitamin C in the bottom left study. In case you are unaware when it comes to collagen (and even gelatine) supplements: -Every single study showing massive benefits included vitamin C and -The ones that showed no benefits did not include vitamin C This is why only industry-funded studies usually show these HUGE benefits (collagen is not useless, it's just that its benefits are severely blown out of proportion). Without vitamin C, underhydroxylated procollagen chains cannot form stable helices, leading to intracellular degradation or secretion of weak collagen that fails to assemble properly.

Collagen supplements are incredibly powerful, despite what some people say.... Collagen production declines after your 20 years old, because our body cannot synthesize enough of the amino acids required to make it. That is why you need to supplement it, or need it in your diet. Studies consistently show: - collagen supps improve skin elasticity, hydration and wrinkles - collagen improves hair and scalp health - collagen improves joint health - glycine (30% of collagen) improves sleep - glycine lowers inflammation - in animals, glycine boosted longevity up to 50% Your body can only make 3g of glycine a day. For collagen turnover, you need at least 12g of glycine. Glycine is also required for glutathione synthesis, creatine synthesis, bile production and so much more. People taking 10g-20g of my collagen a day, consistently report their hair doubling in growth and nails tripling in growth speed. Our ancestors ate a full cow nose to tail, which is approximately 40% - 50% collagen by protein weight. Modern diets are incredibly deficient in these amino acids. If you're not taking collagen, you're seriously missing out.

an average nigerian is very solipsistic. "I will not die young" - on an obituary post of another person. "marriage will work for me" - on a couple separation post. "nigeria will work for me and my family" self, self, self, it's exhausting.

There's no man that genuinely believes women don't experience misogyny. You credit them with an obliviousness they simply do not have to cushion the reality of their awareness and complicity. They live on the same planet you do and are active participants of the very society you're at the hands of. Most of them just don't see anything wrong with it and want you to shut up and take it like the women before you did.

I don't know which is worse, the fact that they find the experiences of women funny or the fact that every time a woman shares similar experiences here, they downplay it and accuse them of chasing clout or being bitter. They are agreeing misogyny exists but they don't believe women on Twitter experience it.

Christian feminist lol. As we speak, your fellow Christian men are quoting scripture upon scripture upon scripture in the who does misogyny better twitter Olympics. The men that wrote that Bible, the ones that swear and live by it today and the ones that preach it see Christianity for what it is and they all know it has no room for feminism but here you are, doing your best to ride two horses. This was me before I decided to stop lying to myself and fully adopted the side that never demanded my subservience to men.

Your own religious leaders will tell you you're not a real Christian if you're a feminist. Feminists will tell you you're not a real feminist if you're also a Christian. Maybe look into the possibility that you can't fully and genuinely house two opposing ideologies whose base politics on women differ.

I can't imagine someone saying I'm not a real feminist because I believe in Jesus Christ, and I am married to a man. Yes, religion and marriage are patriarchal but isn't that why we should be in the system as changemakers? They're all mutually exclusive please.

They think you're overreacting bc they believe misogyny is the natural way of things. You're like a fish complaining about being in water. You're overreacting = you should just know your place, be content with your station and just stop fighting it. You'll see men very different when you realize they're more aware than you are on the workings of misogyny. They just don't disagree.

I think the point she's trying to make is while she still wants love, she's not going to get into relationships just to not be alone. This makes it easier to be picky with the men you're with. You're with a guy cause you want to be with him. Not cause you can't bear to be by yourself.

I see the point you are trying to make but 1. You are an African. Things work differently here. The surname you so strongly keep today and which you apparently tell other women to keep, are ALL MEN’S names. Making it a compound name sounds better (i hope that is what you mean). 2. It literally takes a month to effect changes, even if you are thinking of the legal implications. Court affidavit does it. 3. You did what SUITED YOU and yours. It should not be a blanket advice for everyone. What worked for you could ruin another. People’s realities are different. Saying “I think you should” seems like an overreach. 4. Not everyone will relocate. Not everyone will NEED to relocate. 5. Your bio is remarkably stupid (just a side note and a bonus observation).
RACHELLE@omo_kosoko

To every girl who is considering getting married, you CAN absolutely keep your name after marriage and I think you should. 4 years married now, I have relocated, had a baby, held joint account, travelled solo with my child and not one issue. Don’t let anyone lie to you.

@PaulIzehii @maxvayshia There's women that hyphenate the names they give their children. I get why but I'd let them take just their dad's name. They take more from the mother in terms of their genetic imprint. You literally nourish them with your own body, even postpartum. What's a name?

@CherubMerab @maxvayshia Why do the few women who choose to keep their fathers surnames ironically choose their husbands surnames for their kids? Make it a complete cycle by making the kids surnames yours too, instead of the man's. That way, your surname is passed on, than extinct, like the men do.

No one thinks as little of men as male-centered women. No one. Poking men with certain dressing like, are you listening to yourself? You think men are animals that can't control themselves in the presence of women dressed a "certain way"? The women getting assaulted, are they not human too?
