The local community is invited to attend the ‘Fighting for Change’ event tackling youth violence in the borough. Residents, families, professionals and community organisations are being invited to come together for a powerful and informative event focused on tackling youth violence and creating safer communities across Cheshire West and Chester. Hosted by Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Youth Service, the free event — titled Fighting for Change — will take place TOMORROW Wednesday 27th May 2026 from 10am to 4pm at Storyhouse in Chester city centre, the event will provide opportunities for people to listen, learn and connect with services and initiatives supporting young people and reducing harm in local communities. The event also celebrates the successful rollout of the programme across Ellesmere Port, Chester, Northwich and Winsford, bringing together a wide range of partner agencies, the day will focus on raising awareness of youth violence, understanding its impact, and exploring practical ways communities can work together to make a difference. Attendees can expect: * Interactive workshops led by organisations including: StreetDoctors and Make Mouth Music * Contributions from partner agencies, including The JJ Effect * Information stalls featuring local support services, advice and resources * Opportunities to connect with professionals, community groups and young people The event aims to encourage open conversations and highlight preventative approaches that empower individuals and communities to support young people positively. Amanda Perraton Executive Director for Children and Families at Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: Fighting for Change is about bringing people together to better understand the challenges facing young people and to explore how we can all play a role in creating safer environments, we are grateful to StoryhouseLive for providing the venue for this important event and by working collaboratively we can strengthen communities and help young people thrive. Funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner the event is free to attend and open to all members of the community, the recommended age is 14+, or 11+ with parental guidance, due to emotional content, graphic images and strong language.
