@KathyforMD @GovWesMoore What an idiotic post. It’s scary enough for most travelers to have opposing traffic on the bridge but YOU cannot understand why they DONT HAVE IT DURING storms. They’ve ALWAYS shut down opposing traffic during storms. Get a clue Kathy

@GovWesMoore must be out of town. He's not interested in traffic on the Bay Bridge, more than 1 million mail-in ballots floating around, or rebuilding the Key Bridge. He's too busy running for President, holding fundraisers, or campaigning in other states.
Chris Papst@chrispapst

12 MILES!! Traffic is backed up 12 MILES west of the Bay Bridge. Can someone explain why one lane on the Bay Bridge is closed in both directions on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend? I would really like to know the reason.

@FoxForceFlacco What a clown post by @chrispapst. Imagine not understanding why they don’t have opposing traffic on a 3 mile bridge during a rain storm.

@chrispapst Because the government of the Peoples' Republic of Maryland hates its citizens and revels in our misery while they loot the treasury through sketchy payments to NGOs and "non-profits". You cannot hate them enough.

@chrispapst Whether it’s expecting 4” sheets of harden ice in single digit weather to be shoveled by hand or this, some of you are just opportunistic grievance clowns. Westbound bridge opens one lane east bound during normal ops. In bad weather you cannot for obvious reasons.

@RJDrummond1 @Seth_3773 lol, you don’t have to bean someone in the head to intentionally hit them. In 61 games before the series, she was hbp 4 times. FOUR TIMES! No one claims they were trying to hurt her. you should share less of your “expertise.”

@Chestterp @Seth_3773 If you have played softball/baseball. No one is throwing at you if the ball barely hits you. If someone was throwing at you then it would be getting hit in the head or in the back.

Texas Tech softball taunting the fans after a big win. I was surprised it was girls, but I guess I’m not. Totally the coaching staff and these kids parents fault for this kind of behavior. Apparently these teams didn’t shake hands after.

@lomaxx No one I saying you should tax unrealized, wealth building gains the same as income. Some float that if you borrow against wealth that amount should be taxed.

This is where the “tax the rich” crowd lose me. Say I earn 90k a year and in 2027 I inherit $200,000 I invest that $200k and after 10 years in the stock market it’s now worth $400k If I sell it and realise the $200k capital gain, what the govt and the “tax the rich” crowd are saying is that I should be taxed as if I make $290k every year. Now if I try and split that CGT income across 2 people I’m “greedy” and avoiding tax But if I sell down in 4x $100k lots over 4 years and minimise my tax, that’s ok and nobody bats an eyelid - but it’s the same principle.

POMPEO🤡: You don't let a radical regime close off the global economy by firing Shaheed missiles. Stephen Walt: You do know, Mike, that we started the war. POMPEO🤡: No, no, no. Stephen Walt: They weren't firing those missiles until Israel and the United States attacked Iran.

@Partisan_12 It crazy how much Pompeo openly lies. He personally negotiated the Afghani withdrawal with photo evidence and quotes of him takin credit, and also lies about his involvement to lay blame on the Biden Admin.

@RJDrummond1 @Seth_3773 UF pitchers hit Mia Williams (white, former gator, and daughter of UF’s Jason Williams) 5 times in the series. I believe that was after the 5th HBP. Learn the context.

@Seth_3773 UF team refused to handshake, UF fans then taunted TT when the girls celebrated. Bad blood b/c Jason Williams’ daughter transferred from UF to TT and hit two game winning homers in the series. And TT has plenty of white forks for the idiot racists. Get your story right.

@DavidAstinWalsh Getting off the plane is the same at all airports and customs is no worse than Miami or Atlanta. Not all flights require people mover as the new terminal has train. Timing wise the movers don’t take longer than other trains and is faster than some long walks to baggage claim.

Getting off an international flight at Dulles has got to be one of the most miserable travel experiences possible. Takes forever to deplane, customs is always a mess, and then there’s the people movers, the most stupid fucking idiotic design choice ever made at a major airport.

@NineCato The median minimum wage is $12. So this means that people are being paid less money than what they were required to pay teens, summer and part time workers 50 years ago.

@NineCato To further help you: $2.30 today is the equivalent of ~$13.50, the average minimum wage across all states is currently $11.51. If you need me to explain the relative value, I’ll be happy to do so.

@NineCato Not sure I should take you seriously when you are measuring the entire pop (LoL) and not the workforce, but here are some data for you: Over 43% of all US workers (about 58.3 million) make under \(\$15\) an hour. About 31% of the workforce makes under \(\$12\) an hour.

@JohnSmithvyie @MissLauraMarcus You just cannot handle the data. Boomers benefitted from near 30 year bull mkt, prolonged low rates, deficit spending. It’s not even debatable that boomers by far are the wealthiest generation. Whether individuals are part of that is not statistics. you can prove otherwise

Do read the comments! Boomers for the most part grew up with a lot less than many people have today. But we expected less. And consequently we were probably a lot happier than many people are today. I feel very lucky to have grown up in the 50s and 60s.
Raven@raven_brah

Boomers seem to forget that fast food used to be a normal, everyday expense for them because it was affordable. You could get a burger easily on minimum wage, it wasn’t some fancy treat you had once a year as a reward for pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.

Not a boomer. Gen X here. Wimpy or McDonald’s was a treat once a year or birthday party. Fish and chips wrapped in newspaper occasionally. Absolutely not an every day expense. I went to Pizza Hut for the first time aged 13. Calling for a takeaway? Forget it. 😂

If my team’s QB introduced a President I didn’t agree with, it absolutely wouldn’t bother me one bit. People are weak minded and soft. I’d be like cool, once in a lifetime opportunity, I’d hope he would if invited. A lot of people don’t align with your views. We’re still cool.
