It is irresponsible journalism to report on an E. Coli outbreak in carrots without describing its actual cause: factory farms. Pathogens that kill humans do not generally grow on plants. They grow in animals, whose massive ecological footprint than contaminates the plants.

"If there is any good to be found in this heartrending story, it’s that it has focused a spotlight on the archaic wildlife laws and the societal depth of the anti-wolf, anti-predator prejudices so prevalent throughout the West." mountainjournal.org/wolf-whacking-…

I started my physician career in hospital medicine. I quickly realized that although acute care is necessary, my heart is in preventing cardiometabolic diseases & secondary complications. Sadly our healthcare systems don’t value prevention 😔 I want to be apart of the change!

Really happy with this chapter synthesizing the social & #hunting #ecology of #Africanwilddogs. A highly social & #cooperative effort with an excellent team - just like the subject! My favourite thing to write so far. Check out the rest of the book too! rdcu.be/dnfpv

Old lessons forgotten. As Alberta seeds a new crop of private surgical facilities, when they fail, and they will, the public will be on the hook to pay for them, receiving none of the profits their owners did and all of the liabilities. calgary.citynews.ca/2023/07/28/alb…

It isn’t photogenic but this blueberry crisp made with a strawberry rhubarb sauce is amazing. Thanks to my friend who gifted me a large amount of rhubarb (now long gone)

This wolf from Michigan made a truly incredible journey—one that included a brief stop in our area! Just check out the maps and story below...they are pretty astounding.

I’ve never seen anything like this. Yesterday we installed a displaced pet feeding station in Kramatorsk (with your support!). This morning, the Ukrainian dogs waited in line to eat. 🇺🇦🐕

Introducing our UCalgary Wildlife Educators! Supported by the Summer Camps program, James & Maddy (UC undergrads) bring our UC Living with Wildlife program to life! Look for their “pop up booth” & materials to inspire all ages to coexist with wildlife. ⁦@UCalgaryArts

The berry season is here— the time of year when wolves in our area become omnivores! For some wolves and wolf packs, berries will likely be the primary food source for the next 4 or so weeks. Rare footage of this behavior below.
