In year 1 we have been looking at the long O sound. I used this I Have, Who Has cards with them today and they absolutely loved it! I have used these before but only for mathematics! I definitely recommend #acuedu_p

During our visit from principles/deputy principles today one of the deputy principles was answering a question about our involvement within the school, to which she responded by telling us to read this book! I think i will definitely add this to my personal library @acuedu_p

We have these posters up on the wall in my kindy prac class. I can use it when students are getting distracted/fiddling during explicit teaching by asking students to show me five OR by pointing out students who are showing five. #acuedu_p

I have seen a few ideas like this in action and i can only say great things about having a daily schedule on display in the classroom. They can pre-empt the days tasks and show the students what they focuses will be! @acuedu_p

I love this idea of learning goals in my year 1 class. Each student is able to create their own goal based on what they want to work on. We started new goals last week with a focus on literacy (e.g “Use more wow words in my sentences”, “edit my work”, etc) #acuedu_p

My class love having a structure. They work best when they know what is happening throughout the day. In the morning session my teacher sits the class and does a group time to let them know the plan and get them excited for the day of learning.

I found this on twitter when searching to find ways to teach children things that are living, not living and once living. I think this is an great approach as it allows them to physically move things around and engage @acuedu_p
