A story is told in the Bible where Jesus rose from the dead and only the relic of his clothes remained in the tomb, historic and yet powerless as the actual power possessor had risen.
All that remained were cotton fibres and threads as power was never resident in the pristine cuts of the cloth!

ArcelorMittal SA CEO Kobus Verster says Zimbabwean steel imports are one of the many ‘unfair’ pressures weighing on South Africa’s struggling steel industry.
SA imports about 37% of its steel needs. In the six months to June, the country brought in 94,000 tonnes of steel billets — mainly used for products like bars and rods — duty-free from Zimbabwe.
On an earnings call with analysts, Verster called this unfair competition: “It’s a few things that I hope people can think about; one is, the side effect from the preferential pricing system, the second is the intent of the AfCFTA, and here we have a neighbouring country that is not following any of those rules.”

ARE WE PENNY WISE AND POUND FOOLISH??? On my way to my farm in Kadoma late yesterday, I detoured near BRYDEN PRIVATE SCHOOL, and then turned left to visit a NEW CHINESE-INITIATED INVESTMENT PROJECT, A CEMENT MANUFACTURING PLANT. It is barely 500 metres from the Harare-Chegutu Highway, and for now is foreshadowed by another private school which has just come up, and is sited along the Highway. So the Cement Project has two private schools for its neighbors: one built before Independence and founded as a racial elite school, but which has since opened itself to pupils of all races, including the once reviled black pupils; another just completed and presumably run by an indigenous entrepreneur. I am not sure it has made its first enrollment, but from the looks of it, the school is decidedly elitist, like its sibling which is named BRYDEN. What attracted my attention was some reports in the National press suggesting a conflict between the Chinese Cement Plant Investor and BRYDEN School. The private school, press reports suggested, objected to the establishment of the Cement Plant on account of environmental concerns. I paid a visit to understand the situation with a view to weighing the matter with an even hand. Here is what I found out, which raises serious questions about our commitment to the National Mantra: Zimbabwe Is Open For Business.
