Let’s call it what it is, this was a breakdown in process, not principle. Programs of this magnitude don’t run on assumptions, they require proper clearance and alignment with party structures. If an initiative is not sanctioned by the party, it cannot proceed, no matter how well-intentioned it may be. That’s simply how systems work in ZANU PF. Dr. Tungwarara, as a Central Committee member, cannot be expected to participate in unsanctioned activities just to appease individuals. Leadership operates within defined frameworks, we do things by the book. At the same time, this moment exposes deeper inconsistencies and double faced people. Some of the loudest voices who celebrated when empowerment initiatives were paused are the very same ones who were lined up to benefit a wholesome $2000. You can’t discredit a program that you anticipate to profit from it tomorrow. That contradiction speaks for itself. @cde_Pardon, consider this a wake-up call. Attacking initiatives that are meant to uplift people, only to later seek inclusion in them, undermines collective progress. That is precisely why the call for the return of structured empowerment programs was necessary, because when done properly, they benefit everyone!!
