@ChibuikemFriday Because every time they feed they also suck in air and it can be painful if the air doesn’t come out after feeding. That’s what your baby needs, not medications. Wish you all the best. ☺️

@ChibuikemFriday Burping is very important after every feeding session for babies. It helps to get rid of air that babies tend to swallow during feeding.

@ChibuikemFriday Colic will test your resolve as a new mom/dad. I know the feeling. Just hang in there and be strong for baby okay. And gripe water is not really effective for either, do the tummy exercises you have been advised to do and he’ll be fine.

AFTER HOW MANY CHILDREN
I think as a community we need to have honest conversations about loading babies up with different types of drugs and supplements. The first time my mum came for Ojojo, she arrived with a bag full of baby medicines, they all ended up in the bin. I spoke with a new mum and dad today to understand why their one-month-old was taking so many things. They told me the nurse at the hospital recommended some of them and older mothers around them advised on some of them to “prevent sickness.” But a healthy baby does not need medication for every possible illness that might happen in the future. Breast milk already provides excellent nutrition and immune protection. Where supplements are needed, they should be given for a clear reason, not because we are afraid the baby might become ill one day. What worries me most is how normal it has become to give newborns multiple drops, tonics and even antibiotics without parents fully understanding why they are being given. The best thing for a healthy baby is simply good feeding, routine check-ups, vaccinations, and leaving their body alone to do what it was designed to do.

@ChibuikemFriday Please place him on his tummy. I never had this problem with my child after the fist fees days of cluelessness. I never place my baby facing up unless I am breastfeeding. You will be shocked.

@Kennyhopson @tomisin_ms And also our fear has always been that if we stop and this baby falls sick, it’s going to cost us so much that we dnt even have the money. We’re just scared for any eventuality. Even here old mothers wil tell u it’s ver important dnt stop. Dnt u thin we should be confused
