@RobMKendall Plenty of us will remember Phil’s major role in fracturing the game for personal gain. The irony is his big mouth ultimately had just as large a role in LIV’s demise.

This is so dumb. No he won’t. Dude won 6 majors and was the premier and most exciting player of his era next to Tiger. Top 10 all-time. Nobody will even remember LIV in 5 years.
John Nucci@JNucci23

Can’t help but think about what LIV did to Phil’s legacy. He was universally loved by golf fans. A sure fire Ryder Cup Captain. A lock for a broadcasting career making tens of millions of dollars. Instead, he’ll be (mostly) remembered for LIV and its failure.

I know all the celebrity cameos are getting the negative attention but by far the biggest misstep of Survivor 50 was the rule that you can’t play an idol for someone else. Just absolutely sucked the air out of dramatic Tribal strategy. #Survivor50 #Survivor

I hate to say it, but I think Rizo might genuinely be the worst physical competitor in the history of this show 😭 #Survivor

What is your favorite LIV-related moment over the past four years? The more absurd, specific or forgotten about, the better.

I didn’t expect to, but I loved that twist. Twists need to make the stakes clear ahead of time and give you the option to back out. The stakes here were clear, huge, and Devens volunteered. (Rocks would’ve ruined it). So glad it worked out. And props to Mr. Beast too! #Survivor50

@DaltonRoss I always watch at about a 45 minute delay if possible….fast forward commercials and don’t usually clock how much clock is left!

LIV was never going to succeed. This Mickelson quote killed it before it even started. "I’m not sure I even want (the SGL) to succeed, but just the idea of it is allowing us to get things done with the PGA Tour."

I'm not sure there's a bigger self-inflicted casualty of golf's civil war than Jon Rahm. Hurt reputation by taking $ he said he didn't need, torched years of major prime, put Ryder Cup eligibility in jeopardy over a silly fight, after turning down PGA Tour's Koepka exemption might not have a place to play next year

Golfers signed contracts with LIV, not PIF If LIV exists after 2026 in a reduced capacity (smaller purses), can players still be contractually forced to play? Depends entirely on the language of the contracts and what guarantees LIV gave, but the lawyers might not be finished

Great opportunity for a new investor to buy low. Lotsa brand recognition, strong international markets. Just gotta void every contract - force majeure! - and start over with $10 million purses. Lotsa dudes will need a place to play. LIV can endure but in a less decadent way.

I am fascinated to see if there is anyone willing to back a league who historically has lit money on fire with tepid results in building anything of substance.

@JoeWest784409 They all knew if they every lost the PIF direct funding they’d be screwed, yet every time someone would say that business isn’t feasible you’d just get the standard “they’ll just throw money at it no matter what” response, like LIV was a kid you’d never make get a real job.

Scott O'Neil's comments at LIV Golf Korea media day yesterday (per Maeil Business Newspaper): -expecting more than the 40,000 fans last year -5 sponsors have signed on for the event -"ratings have increased along with profits" (no details) -Operating funding through 2026 season secured "working hard to create an environment where it can grow on its own ... we are trying to grow by attracting investment and expanding profits"
