Officer Bartholomew was shot in the head by a robbery suspect who he and his partner were escorting to the hospital for a medical evaluation. Joey’s title of this video is “let me enjoy the #cubs game, I don’t care about your dead gang member #cops”.

NEW: The Illinois House Revenue & Finance Committee passes the Brandon Johnson-backed 3% “millionaires tax” a 13-7 vote. Would hike taxes on more than 22,000 small businesses statewide. thelastward.org/p/brandon-john…

@rogersqrt1 @GovPritzker Those in power we call leaders who measure success by how many people they control and how much they control them are not good leaders.

@Unfiltered_50 @GovPritzker Some measure success by the number of people who use government programs. Others measure success by the number of people who don’t need government programs.

@ChicagosMayor @ChicagoDOT None of this is true. Working families are being taxed out of their homes, following the jobs to the suburbs and or are victims of crime.

My administration has been hard at work building a Chicago where our families can thrive into the future; where we can watch our children build safe, healthy lives and stay here to raise their families. @ChicagoDOT

@ChicagoREDP @ChiPubSchools Patricia if you don’t understand that 70% of the students cannot read or do math proficiently, right? That’s not a number I made up.

@Unfiltered_50 @ChiPubSchools It’s all about you. If I’m in an AP Calc class and the kids are keeping up, why would you say they can’t add? That’s stupid AF. Talk about your own short comings, not other people you don’t know. 🫵🏽 couldn’t take AP calc bc you lacked skills, not them.

I’m sitting in an AP Calculus class in a CPS school that the CPS haters have said needs to close. These kids WANT to learn and this teacher is doing his THANG this morning preparing them for the AP exam. I am so proud of them and their hard work LONG LIVE @ChiPubSchools

@ChicagoREDP @ChiPubSchools It has very little to do with me and has a lot to do with the 70% of students who are going to graduate without being able to do basic math.

@ChicagoREDP @ChiPubSchools It wasn’t always as bad as it is now. I doubt they were teaching advanced math and if they did I don’t think many students were listening. I know you’re missing the point though, there are students in the class you are sitting in that cannot add.

@ChicagoREDP @ChiPubSchools 70% of the students cannot do basic math. My comment isn’t about which students can, I asked about the students who cannot. 1. Born and raised in Chicago. 2. Rabat High School.

@CTULocal1 How exactly are schools going to be open when all the so-called educators will be “protesting”? If civics were taught correctly throughout the school year students would turn on the so-called educators.

CPS has agreed to move forward with a May 1Day of Civic Action — keeping schools open while making space for student and educator participation. This is what organizing looks like. Read more: nytimes.com/2026/04/17/us/…

@LtGovStratton Since guns are such an issue we can expect that you and Governor Pritzker will have your security guards disarm themselves, right?

Twenty-seven years ago today, 13 lives were taken and countless more injured at Columbine. And yet, there have been over 400 school shootings since. Gun violence is a public health crisis we have the power to stop. I will never give up the fight. Enough.

@RobertJPeters There’s no way you can honestly say that the biggest challenge Chicago has is that people have racially segregated themselves.

Chicago is an amazing city but our biggest challenge is our segregation. Our city would be safer, our local politics would be a bit saner, and our economy would be stronger if we weren’t such a segregated city. It’s ridiculous how taboo it’s become to talk about this issue.

@AaronDelMar Aaron, what is the GOP’s plan to win state rep elections? The Governors mansion hardly means anything without the support from the general assembly.
