Fun fact: after Hurricane Maria, Guadeloupe became my village’s connection to the outside world. Our cellphones were roaming, and the only radio stations we could pick up were from there.
If we are truly serious about regional travel, all Caribbean governments must see it as an essential public good and service, set aside a percentage of the national budget to make airfares affordable. We are so close (see ya across the water from the beach), yet charged so much.
