Last night on #PoliticsNation, I spoke plainly about the ongoing attempts to undermine the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., not just symbolically, but structurally. From removing King Day and Juneteenth as free admission days at our national parks, to dismissing the Civil Rights Act as “unfair,” to dismantling the very civil rights infrastructure Dr. King fought and died to build, these actions are not accidental. They are deliberate. Dr. King’s legacy is not a relic to be tucked away. It is a living mandate. And on this King Day, we must be clear. This is not just a day of reflection. It is a call to action. We do not honor Dr. King by resting. We honor him by protecting hard fought freedoms, defending civil rights, and continuing the work he began. The struggle continues.
