@clhubes Just to make all ya all feel better: I do not have a baby and do half those things all the darn time! It's OK to be human and not perfect.

@TPP_MD I also think a part of being happy is understanding that being happy is YOUR responsibility. Part deciding to be happy where you are and focusing on what is good, right, pleasing and enough rather than what is lacking.

I was 3 years into being an attending physician when I found I was unhappy. I told myself once I…. …Pay off my loans …Buy a bigger house …Get promoted THAT is when I’ll be happy. Except I’d get there, and the happiness was fleeting. This is called an Arrival Fallacy 1/

@marionleary @Penn @PennNursing I didn’t go to my PhD graduation either, I did go to my daughters college graduation. My degree is framed and in my office, that’s fine for me.

@DtheNP Very true, you need to ASK each individual and allow their self definition of a good death to guide their path.

What would you consider a good death? How do you feel about palliative care and hospice? Do you believe one can have a good death with the help of hospice? I’m working on something and realizing that what folks call a good death varies wildly.
