Anymore mining will leave little habitat left intact in Treaty #3 to exercise Treaty Rights. Climate change, flooding, winds, forestfires and heatwaves threaten us, animals + fish. We can preserve the forest + waters now. Over centuries its value will be limitless for next gens.

My Papa is 17 months sober + smoke-free since suffering a stroke. ❤️ My dad has fallen in love w/ a woman in the old folks home. ❤️ They want to get married. When my dad had his stroke, it felt like his life was over. Turns out, he is just starting a new chapter in life. ❤️

#ICYMI, Alberta separation petition overturned as judge rules in favour of First Nations A judge overturns Elections Alberta’s approval of the separation referendum petition, finding it failed to consider an earlier court decision that said separation would violate Indigenous people’s treaty rights; however, the Alberta government will appeal the decision. Great way to start my day.

I made this video four years ago in the aftermath of my brother Cary’s stroke. I’m in awe of how far he has come in the years since. Cary’s strength, resilience, and spirit continue to inspire me every single day. Grateful for the love and support of my brothers on this Brothers Day!

Hills I will die on as a doctor obsessed with cardiometabolic health: -Women are not “bad at self care.” They are drowning in invisible labor and mental load. -Sleep deprivation is a public health issue. -Chronic stress absolutely affects physical health. -You cannot wellness your way out of unaffordable healthcare, childcare, food, and housing. -Telling people to “just lose weight” without addressing mental health, food access, medications, medical conditions, sleep, finances, and time is just lazy. -A salad will not cancel out a strained healthcare system. -Postpartum recovery deserves the same seriousness as any other major medical event. -Wellness misinformation has harmed people’s relationship with food more than fruit ever will. -Prevention is important, but not every illness is a personal failure. -A healthy woman is not a luxury. She is the backbone of families, communities, and society.
