A wonderful constituent sent me this just now: Sulphur Springs tower lit blue for the late Jesse Madsen of Tampa Police Department for the five year anniversary of his last heroic act. We remember today this amazing Tampa hero. Many, many people miss him in Tampa - and many, many people admire his remarkable courage.

Tonight, the City of Tampa will be illuminated in blue to mark the five-year anniversary of the ultimate sacrifice made by Master Police Officer (MPO) Jesse Madsen. This tribute serves as a solemn reminder of MPO Madsen’s final act of bravery and a permanent commitment to honoring all Tampa Police Officers who have fallen in the line of duty. We also hold the families of our fallen officers close in our hearts. Their stories will continue to be told, and their names will always be said, because a hero remembered is never forgotten.
