One of our Advanced Care Paramedics, Kristen Hamilton, has received a special citation from @OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique, for her "courageous actions" in helping to rescue an injured motorist trapped in a vehicle deep into a marsh, on Oct. 12, 2024. Way to go, Kristen!

Halton paramedics completed SAFER-P training to strengthen threat assessment, de-escalation, and harm-avoidance skills. With over 500 reported incidents of violence since 2022, this training is vital. Thank you to MHWTP staff for their support.

Starting today, people who call our non-emergency number will be connected to a responsive and adaptive #AI system called SARA. This cutting-edge technology will help us reduce the number of non-emergency calls our Communicators field (about 160,000 per year), ensuring they can focus on 9-1-1 calls that will ultimately enhance public safety. *All 9-1-1 calls will continue to be handled by a human Communicator* Press release here: bit.ly/4qS1PQ4
