All making clear every single day their loyalty is not to America. We just introduced a long overdue joint resolution proposing a constitutional amendment to require Members of Congress, federal judges, and Senate-confirmed officers to be natural born citizens. This is the very same standard the President and Vice President are already required to meet. The people writing America's laws, confirming America's judges, and representing America on the world stage should have one loyalty: America. Not any other country. For too long we have allowed foreign born members to hold seats in this government while making clear they are America last, not America first. We see it every day. This constitutional amendment will put an end to it.

@dansullivandc @RepNancyMace That’s such bullshit. The preamble literally says it is for “ourselves and our Posterity,” not immigrants from anywhere in the world. The 1790 naturalization act, passed by the first congress and signed by George Washington, came before the bill of rights and all “civil rights”

@mattlindner Actually, Matt, having kids is NOT prohibitively expensive. It is people's lifestyles that are the problem. Many families raise excellent kids, send them to college, and give them a good life on a small amount of money. MORE sacrifice, LESS consumption, WAY fewer extravagances.

Or, and hear me out on this…Having kids has become prohibitively expensive. People have decided they want to put off marriage and parenthood in favor of traveling, careers, bottomless brunches, and any number of things that become more difficult to pursue once you have kids.

@JefferyThomas @mark_slapinski It’s in an open hotel where guests can come and go. They had decent layers of security and it worked well. The fact that it went down as it did with no one seriously injured is excellent. But to your point, I agree with you.
