Now look at the new generation. Modrić and Rakitić took a small Croatia to the World Cup final. Haaland is already carrying Norway deep into tournaments. Even players like Mbappé are elevating France while shining individually. These guys show that true greatness doesn’t always need a galaxy of stars around you. It creates its own light.
When will we stop making excuses? Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing with some of the best midfielders and attackers in Europe for years. A 41-year-old still starting full matches for Portugal is not the flex some think it is. The facts remain: the greatest players find a way to win the biggest trophy no matter the support. Excuses won’t change history.
The present Portuguese team is clearly better than the current Argentina side. Almost all of them are world-class players, with several having just won the Champions League back to back. Ronaldo truly has no excuses left for not winning the World Cup with this level of talent around him.
