Now - a real ‘Marmite’ question that divides opinions… Do you remember when Lucozade was served in glass bottles wrapped in orange cellophane - it made it feel more like ‘medicine’ than a refreshing drink - some loved it, some hated it… #eastend #MemoryLane

According to a recent survey, these are the 3 most unpopular British biscuits, so I’ve bought them to give to guests I don’t like ☺️

Did you know that tennis balls used at Wimbledon are donated to animal rehabilitation centres around Britain for harvest mice.

@OUPELTGlobal Because I’ve always had an affinity with languages. They were the only subjects that made any sense to me at school. And my mum was an EFL teacher when I was a child. Later, we worked at the same school together!

#thejetty I’m halfway through episode 3 and I’ve only just realised that two different time frames are in operation. Amy and Caitlin are ‘decades earlier’. But are Malachy and Mack the same person? Is the hand cut from Amy or a bap-related incident? Huh?🤔

@AMAZlNGNATURE It always upsets me the way they are loaded up and used as transport in some countries. Or spend their days in noisy, polluted city streets in the boiling heat. Poor donkeys 😢

Word of the day is ‘absquatulize’ (19th century): to dismiss, send off, and put to flight.

Hedgehog Cabin
Hedgehog Cabin@HedgehogCabin·
This is a journey of hope, courage, determination, and complete victory over adversity. With a dog destroying their nest, helpless little babies Gracie and Ben were found deathly cold, flyblown, distressed and crying for their mum. It wasn't until the next day that little Hobo was found, dragging himself around on his front legs, starving cold and crying, with a dog bite so deep through his back that it had crushed the thigh bone of his right rear leg. The bone was so completely shattered that it was invisible to x-ray. But hedgehogs haven't survived for 15 million years, through persecution, famine and the ice age, without learning a thing or two about determination. From dragging himself to the door of their bed to watch his brother and sister eat, Hobo slowly learned to walk again, and feed himself. As he was less that 3 weeks old, his bones were still growing, and a safe environment, the right drugs, and good nutrition meant they could gradually repair themselves. The last vido clip was 10 days ago, when they went 'hands off' to prepare for life back in the wild, and weaned onto solid dry food. Hobbo can now walk, run, climb and scratch himself (babies with adult spines growing through are VERY itchy!), so this precious little family are now free and back home, where there will always be food and water and where they can have another chance at life.
