So, only those who are pro-CB3 are allowed to campaign freely. Those who are opposed are harassed, beaten up, or arrested. How does public consultation work? Is it about consulting only those who support the proposed constitutional changes? Does consultation have a new meaning?

When they toe the line, we're told that they're genuine liberators. When they cross the line, the narrative shifts rapidly - no, they're not genuine heroes. Since when did Henry Muchena stop being a genuine hero? What NONSENSE!!!!

@TembaMliswa So if ED has been in govt since 1980, what difference does a 2yr extension make? Is it not the same war veterans & retired generals you're denigrating that said "enough is enough" to Mugabe? Anyway, your uncle is back. You might be next, but that doesn't mean wrong is right.

The President is the longest serving bureaucrat, having devoted himself to public service since 1980, is a War Veteran and also serves as Commander-in-Chief of the Army. It is thus questionable to wield one's own inconsequential accolades as a weapon against him, as some alleged retired Generals have attempted to do. Moreover, these Generals continue to hold positions as part of the Reserve Force, remaining under the command of the Commander-in-Chief, with the potential to be recalled in critical situations. The same holds for the registered War Veterans. Thus, it is paramount for them to be cautious, for their excitable actions may be construed as undermining the authority of their own Commander. For individuals still entrenched in the very system they seek to critique, one would presume they could address their concerns with a greater degree of professionalism and respect unless, of course, their motives are politically charged and designed to erode the stature of the President. In this regard, they have indeed made an error, for ED has managed to stay significantly ahead of the many recent antics that masquerade as legitimate grievances. It would be dangerous for these retired generals to be playing politics while using their credentials as Army personnel. That makes it very important for them to clear their names, whether they wrote the letter or not. It's just that the President plays the long game; otherwise, those who have shown that they don’t support the party’s positions and resolutions should be helped to march out if they can't do it of their own volition.

Govt strongly advises its citizens against enlisting in the military forces of other nations. We are gravely concerned for the safety and well-being of our nationals abroad. Reports received indicate that in such circumstances, our compatriots may not always receive treatment equal to that of those nations’ service members. Furthermore, in the event of a tragedy, the repatriation of mortal remains is a complex process that can deny families the crucial opportunity for closure. The safety of Zimbabweans and the peace of mind of their loved ones remain our utmost priority.

@GutuObert Blazie, when the split was imminent, I hosted Tendai Biti & Moses Mzila Ndlovu on Zim On Air, a NZ- based community radio station then. Our objective was to try and bring the "warring" parties together. That's when I realised we were so far apart. Let me end here, for now 🙈🙉🙊

The mutual distrust and animosity between MDC Tsvangirai and MDC Ncube was palpable and toxic. There was no love lost between these two factions. Senior MDC Ncube officials were regularly quoted in the local print and electronic media lambasting and lampooning Morgan Tsvangirai, describing him as a violent thug and intolerant dictator. Things really got to a head when Trudy Stevenson was severely injured in a brutal attack perpetrated by some political thugs. The MDC Ncube faction promptly and publicly accused Tsvangirai of organising the thugs who brutally assaulted Trudy Stevenson. Unfortunately, the two MDC factions had somehow become mortal enemies. They actually hated each other more than they hated Zanu-PF. It was very sad to say the least. I understand that deep down his heart of hearts, Morgan Tsvangirai regretted the 2005 MDC split. On several occasions, he despatched emissaries to try and mend the rift between his faction and the smaller MDC faction but all these efforts came to naught. In fact, some senior officials in both factions actually didn't want a reunion because they feared that they would lose their newly found political positions. Such is politics. It wasn't a big surprise when both factions of the MDC participated in the 2008 harmonised elections as separate political parties. In the 2008 harmonised elections, I was chosen to run for a Senate seat for Chisipite senatorial constituency in Harare Metropolitan Province. Chisipite senatorial constituency covered four National Assembly constituencies and these were Harare North, Harare West, Harare East and Mt.Pleasant. Theresa Makone was the Harare North constituency candidate, Jessie Majome stood in Harare West, Tendai Biti in Harare East and Jameson Timba in Mt.Pleasant. Morgan Tsvangirai was the MDC-T Presidential candidate. The 2008 harmonised elections were a watershed plebiscite in that Morgan Tsvangirai beat Robert Mugabe of Zanu-PF. It was unprecedented that Presidential election results were only announced five weeks after the election date. The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), then headed by Justice George Chiweshe, gave the reason that it took that long to announce the Presidential election results because there was need to do what they called 'meticulous verification'. The harmonised elections were held on March 29, 2008. Official Presidential election results as announced by ZEC indicated that Morgan Tsvangirai received 47,9% (1 195 562 votes) and Robert Mugabe received 43,2% (1 079 730 votes) and Simba Makoni of Mavambo/Kusile/Dawn won 8,3% of the vote. The MDC Ncube faction had publicly backed Simba Makoni's Presidential candidacy. Because no candidate achieved the 50% plus one vote required for an outright victory, a Presidential runoff election was required. And all hell broke loose thereafter. In the March 2008 harmonised elections, MDC-T won 100 National Assembly seats, Zanu-PF won 99 seats and MDC-Mutambara (the Welshman Ncube faction) won 10 seats. In the Senate, MDC-T won 24 seats, Zanu-PF won 30 seats and MDC-M won 6 seats. Thus, I became the Senator for Chisipite in the 7th Parliament of Zimbabwe. That was my first time to become a Member of Parliament. Naturally, I felt very excited and happy with myself. The Presidential election runoff was set for June 27, 2008. The period between March 2008 and June 2008 was beset by an unprecedented orgy of politically motivated violence, mainly in the Mashonaland, Harare Metropolitan, Midlands, Manicaland and Masvingo provinces. Hundreds of MDC-T activists were targeted and brutally murdered. In Harare Metropolitan province, MDC-T activists such as Tonderai Ndira, Abigail Chiroto and Beta Chokururama were brutally murdered. All the rural parts of Mashonaland East, West and Central provinces were virtual no go areas for the opposition MDC-T. Masvingo and Midlands provinces were also virtually shut out to the opposition. The level of political violence was both unprecedented and

Shocking! Is Paul Mangwana being serious? What kind of legal interpretation is this?😂😂. This is more ridiculous than Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi’s argument that govt is only changing the “electoral cycle” without changing length of term of office for the President and Members of Parliament.
ZANU PF@ZANUPF_Official

During today’s press conference, ZANU-PF Politburo member Cde Paul Mangwana who served as co-chair during the constitution-making process from 2009 to 2013, emphasized that, under the legal framework, a full term is defined as three years or more, and any period shorter than that does not qualify as a term. ___________ Distributed by ZANU PF Headquarters:: INFORMATION AND PUBLICITY DEPARTMENT Follow us: Website: zanupf.org.zw Facebook: ZANU PF PARTY X: @ZANUPF_Official Tiktok: Zanu.pf.official Instagram: Officialzanupf Telegram: zanupfofficial

The discourse surrounding Colonel Baloyi's situation has, regrettably, been clouded by a politically polarized perceptions. However, her position within the nation’s MID was undoubtedly untenable, given her considerable compromises. The Vice President has transitioned into a full-time political role characterized by distinct ambitions, and thus, having his spouse in a pivotal military intelligence position poses a significant risk to the integrity of any sensitive information that may pass through her hands. What implications arise when a report containing adverse information about her husband is funneled through her? The matter is as straightforward as that. This is not about animosity or a personal affront against the person of the VP or the Colonel. It's a simple case of weeding out a clear risk to the integrity of MID. Moreover, demanding accountability from our leaders should not be perceived as an act of aggression or insult; it is, rather, a practice that ought to be encouraged and fostered, as it is fundamental to the establishment of an effective democratic system. No leader should be exempt from scrutiny. Personally, I have always engaged in constructive criticism of every leader, including the President, and I find it perplexing that others might be treated as unassailable figures while holding public office. This tendency to deify political leaders is precisely what leads our nation to recurrent disappointment. Leadership must be subjected to rigorous examination.

We will only know that the President and his government are not behind this if the vigilante group is arrested and held to account in terms of the law. Anything else is just propaganda. Historically, @PoliceZimbabwe has not lifted its finger despite its knowledge of similar vigilante groups, including the one called Zimbabwe Anti Presidential Criticism Association. This begs the question: What kind of a legacy is President @edmnangagwa creating?
Caesar Zvayi 🇿🇼@caesarzvayi

The President @edmnangagwa & @ZANUPF_Official should distance themselves from these attention seekers! Every Zimbabwean has a right to freely speak his/her mind on the proposed constitutional amendment. & there is a 90 day period set aside for that. We all know the ruling party has the numbers to carry the day in peace should push come to shove. These guys not only tarnish the image of the Party whose motto is Unity, PEACE & Development but feed an unwarranted, unwanted narrative especially in light of the recent attack on @ProfMadhuku I doubt the President himself associates with such characters! A lot is done & said in his name. I will be utterly shocked if he endorses this!
