its for the best that Mao and the CPC did not listen to the Soviets at many key junctures

@Rothmus There is no geographic barrier on your border. A more realistic proposal by Li Zongren in 1949 was divided by the Yangtze river, which was approved by the US and USSR. But Mao refused and even ignored Stalin's demand, and started the Yangtze crossing campaign

🇮🇷🇺🇸 DID IRAN DOWN AN F-35? CENTCOM confirmed that a US F-35 was struck by Iranian fire while flying a combat mission over Iran and was forced to make an emergency landing. The pilot is described as being in stable condition. The incident is under investigation. Iran claims it shot the aircraft down. Here is what else we know: In the hours following the incident, a US Army MH-47G Chinook, registration 19-02916, was tracked on FlightRadar24 flying an extensive series of tight circling patterns over the eastern Saudi Arabian region near Al Jubayl. The flight pattern is consistent with Combat Search and Rescue operations: the kind of search profile you fly when you are looking for a downed aircraft or a pilot on the ground. The IRGC claims the shoot-down occurred at AM Iran time. The Chinook's search activity and the timeline raise questions about whether the F-35 reached a base at all, or whether it came down somewhere over Saudi territory. CENTCOM says it landed safely. A Chinook was circling the Saudi desert in a CSAR pattern. One of those things may not be true.

If Japan was actually governed by a truly different set of people, this wouldn't be a gaffe. The problem is the Japanese ruling class are *literally* the grandkids of people like The Monster of Manchuria and the butchers of Nanking and they are ideologically unrepentant.

Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi's reaction as Trump says "Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn't you tell me about Pearl Habour?" Undoubtedly the worst American diplomatic gaffe in post-war US-Japan history.

🇨🇳 🇨🇺 The average Cuban consumes 60kg of rice every year. China just donated enough rice in ONE BATCH to feed all of Cuba for a whole month.
