@did0f no i tried 5.5 low compact many times, codex could totally lose focus on what the task at hand was. never happens with x-high. also, i used codex 5.3 spark a lot - this model's compact can send itself into a death spiral and never comes out

With #UnrealEngine 5.8, we get more procedural vegetation support to finally create things not only from scratch, but use other trees as a base if we want. Which is what this is. I think this will be a fun tutorial to make for this Sunday. What do you guys think? 😉 It won't be super super in depth, since it's just preview and there's quite a bit of crashing and whatnot. We found and fixed two issues that could explain this degradation of the capability of GPT-5.5 in Codex over the last ~ 48 hours. We are monitoring over the coming hours to fully confirm and I will reset usage limits this evening. Apologies and now is the time for /fast maxxing.

Codex team is aware of reports of GPT-5.5 performing worse for some users and investigating. We don't have anything conclusive yet and systems are healthy but we will share updates as we go.

Implementing a wgpu renderer for Byrsa is such a rabbit hole but tons of fun: lighting units, tone mapping, shadows, gizmos, editor parity. Current state: My WGPU renderer can render real scenes now, and the lighting setup is finally starting to behave.
