@Chiosford Absolutely. I would rather just play well and let someone else guide the song

mentorship is important in every part of any business. you gotta have p-ple who help you understand how to navigate. for me, there‘s many producers that are part of my life I call whenever I‘m try‘na figure out things they been through. may not have made the best decisions, but..

If you taking your time and writing the right Songs, Networking, getting locked in, and you have the product - that’s the Game. so many people do dirty records, and if it doesn’t sell, they blame it on the algorithm.

@Chiosford a great producer prioritizes serving the song and elevating the artist’s sound rather than trying to satisfy their own pride or force a specific, self-indulgent style.

as producer, trust is the best way to get the vulnerability outta an artist. not doing music, spend time! might be an hour b4 the music, learn and talk to the person… one day I was communicating with my producer about things I have gone through, and he’s like.. “that’s the EP”.

as writer, my job is to make people feel something… If I’m nervous to say something to you, there’s a whole lot of people nervous to have that same conversation. so, if I get it on a song, people gonna feel it.

you gotta watch how they operate losses… did they persevere or does it break them? that’s how you identify artists who win

Even his “royalty points only” argument indirectly admits this. Because royalty points are literally a claim to revenue generated by the master. The only difference is whether that participation is contractual revenue share or equity based participation.

You’re speaking from a traditional service provider mindset, not from how modern entertainment partnerships are actually structured. If somebody is merely rendering a one time service, then yes, they get a flat fee. but once a party is⬇️

@QiosRepublic now, whether the percentage requested is FAIR is a completely different discussion. but saying ownership should “never” be part of the conversation ignores how labels, distro companies, management firms, entertainment investors, and marketing partners have operated for decades.
