Even his “royalty points only” argument indirectly admits this. Because royalty points are literally a claim to revenue generated by the master. The only difference is whether that participation is contractual revenue share or equity based participation.

You’re speaking from a traditional service provider mindset, not from how modern entertainment partnerships are actually structured. If somebody is merely rendering a one time service, then yes, they get a flat fee. but once a party is⬇️

“the producer just made the beat.” So they try to give producers a small percentage or just a one-time payment But in reality, the producer may have: created the melody shaped the sound and even influenced the entire song

Many producers don’t just make beats. they actually help create the melody, vibe, and direction of the song That means they are part of the songwriting process. but some artists think:

There’s a stage you’ll reach in this music journey where you see that being yourself and expressing yourself is all that matters. my music will always be a reflection of my struggles, love, comfort, pain, my worst and best moments.

Latin awards are regional, just like the Headies. Also, Kendrick is not eligible for the Headies. The Grammys try to globalize music by genre; the Headies try to localize music by culture. Expecting them to work the same way is like confusing the Olympics with the AFCON.

@Chiosford It’s like Kendrick Lamar saying he should win rap album of the year at headies because his album is rap. Really nigga? Maybe davido should also go to Latin music awards and say his song is reggaeton so he should win.

The Headies on the other hand, exists to center 🇳🇬 & African artists by rewarding impact within African culture. Hence, Latin music awards exist to promote Latin identity and culture. Davido is not part of that cultural ecosystem. therefore, your comparison does not stand.

In essence, they are not chasing the same goal. the confusion here is really about what each award show exists to do. Hence, Grammy organize music by genre first, not geography. If your music fits Rap, R&B, Afro etc. you’re judged against everyone else in that genre worldwide.

To everyone asking about Hood Kid 💔 I know California Kid“ EP is currently unavailable on DSPs. This wasn’t intentional, and I’m already working behind the scenes to fix it and get the music back up. Thanks for riding with me and caring enough to ask. We’ll sort it out🫶❤️

no Recording Contract or no Partnership Agreement , I’ll keep dropping solid music. Right now, none of my visuals has less than 10,000 plays and 100 comments on YouTube. People are listening on their own because the music genuinely connects.

It's crazy how social media convinced us that 2k likes on a song isn't enough. Imagine 2,000 person‘s in real life telling you that your song is good. It’s also my first ever song to grace 500+ comments with just 33,000 plays🏆
