BREAKING🚨 : ⚡ NASA releases insane new image of the mighty hexagonal storm on Saturn's North Pole. This massive storm is over 20,000-mile-wide. Wide enough to fit roughly 4 Earths inside it. It's been observed continuously since Voyager spotted it in 1981, so at least 45 years, though it's likely much older

A piece of a SpaceX rocket is set to crash into the Moon. The object is the upper stage of a Falcon 9 rocket, launched on January 15, 2025, to deliver a lunar lander. After completing its primary mission, the stage was not brought back to Earth and instead entered an uncontrolled orbit through space. That journey is now coming to an end. According to tracking data from Project Pluto, the rocket stage will slam into the Moon on August 5, 2026, at approximately 5,400 miles per hour (8,700 km/h) — about seven times the speed of sound. The impact is expected on the near side of the Moon, close to Einstein crater. There is no risk to Earth, and the collision will be relatively modest. It won’t be visible to the naked eye from here. Still, scientists are watching closely. When the stage strikes the surface, it will excavate a new crater and eject material from beneath the lunar regolith. The resulting debris plume could offer researchers a rare glimpse into the Moon’s subsurface composition, turning an unintended crash into an unexpected scientific opportunity.

In December 1989, one of the most consequential meetings in modern history took place aboard ships anchored off the coast of Malta in the middle of a violent Mediterranean storm. President George H. W. Bush and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev met at the Malta Summit as the communist world was collapsing around them, with Eastern European governments falling one after another throughout that year. Despite the chaos of the stormy seas forcing schedule changes and tossing their vessels, both leaders maintained their composure and emerged with a shared declaration effectively announcing the end of the Cold War. Bush had initially paused Reagan's détente policy when he took office, cautiously assessing whether Gorbachev was a genuine reformer or simply buying time to restore Soviet power. Malta convinced Bush that Gorbachev would negotiate in good faith, and from that point forward Bush committed to a cooperative relationship with the Soviet leader. The two men also focused heavily on the future of a reunited Germany, with Bush pushing for reunification over the objections of Britain and France. The summit was remarkable not just for its historic declarations but for the physical conditions under which they were made, with diplomats and staff enduring seasickness while the fate of the world was being negotiated. The Malta Summit fundamentally reshaped the global order in ways that are still felt today. By signaling mutual trust between the two superpowers, Bush and Gorbachev cleared the path for German reunification in October 1990, the dissolution of the Soviet Union in December 1991, and a dramatic reduction in nuclear arsenals through the START treaties. Bush's restraint in not gloating over the collapse of communism helped preserve Gorbachev's political standing long enough to manage the Soviet withdrawal from Eastern Europe peacefully, avoiding a potentially catastrophic military confrontation. The summit established a model of personal diplomacy between rivals that Bush would draw on repeatedly, and it marked the moment when the ideological struggle that had defined world politics for over four decades was finally, formally, put to rest. #archaeohistories

Girkin concludes that Ukraine, unlike Russia, has a workable strategy in the war: “Ukrainians long ago ‘set their priorities’: when drones and missiles were scarce and the pressure of Russian troops at the front was dangerously strong, they used what little they had mainly against military facilities and targets. (By the way, they still use them this way — just more, because their capabilities allow it.) But when ‘abundance arrived,’ they seriously set about ‘taking out’ our industrial facilities, prioritizing targets where it ‘hurts the war and the economy the most’ — and now (more than predictably! Just look at my forecasts from last year! And earlier ones as well…) they are systematically and ‘without sparing’ knocking out one plant after another, one refinery after another, not disdaining smaller targets and continuously expanding the geography of raids/strikes. As for us — it’s a ‘Trishkin’s caftan’: you can’t stretch air defense across all objects (especially since, naturally, the Valdai residence must be protected first). The production of air defense systems and ‘consumables’ is clearly not catching up with the sharply increased demand (which, for the Ministry of Defense leadership, apparently ‘arose suddenly’). And there is certainly a shortage of personnel — after all, you can’t train them in a couple of weeks (like a ‘disposable assault trooper’)… The Crimean Bridge cannot be left uncovered? — It cannot! Moscow must be protected? — Without a doubt! So there isn’t enough left for ‘places like Tuapse and Cherepovets’… And the further it goes, the greater the shortage will be. From this we draw the sad conclusion that the enemy’s strategy may not be the most ‘brilliant,’ but it is quite workable.”

Iran 🇮🇷 announces finding 15 GBU-57 MOP super heavy bombs, which are considered America's fortified secrets. 55 Tomahawk and JASSM strategic rockets 🚀 have been secured, as well as "thousands of quality ammunition". These spoils were immediately transferred to research and reverse engineering units of the Revolutionary Guard and the Iranian Army. These weapons will be dismantled to understand their secrets and clench them, and even to develop local weapons that surpasses them The field is gonna witness the results of this engineering soon💯!!️ ️🇮🇷

JetBlue just pulled the ultimate power move. Hours after Spirit Airlines went dark, JetBlue swooped into South Florida with a full-blown rescue mission—and they're not playing small. Here's the breakdown: $99 rescue fares for anyone holding a valid Spirit ticket. Same route, same dates, just call 1-800-JETBLUE. Flying Fort Lauderdale to San Juan? Blue Basic is capped at $299 through May 8. But that's just the warm-up. JetBlue is exploding at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International—adding 11 brand new cities, extra flights on existing routes, and pushing nearly 130 daily departures this summer. That's a 75%+ jump from last year and their biggest FLL operation EVER. CEO Joanna Geraghty put it plainly: "South Florida is a key market... we're stepping up, adding service, and keeping fares competitive." (Translation: we're taking over.) Fun fact? Fort Lauderdale was JetBlue's very first destination back in 2000. Now they're reclaiming it after Spirit held 27% of that market. Oh, and they're not leaving Spirit's crew behind either—jumpseat access for two weeks and job interviews for qualified staff. This is how you turn a market collapse into a masterclass. 👇

John Glenn didn’t just fly into space. He stared death in the face and flew home anyway. He was screaming back to Earth at 17,000 miles per hour when the heat shield cracked. No heat shield. No capsule. No astronaut.Mission Control knew it. Glenn knew it. They said nothing. And he brought that broken machine home with his bare hands. That was just Tuesday for John Glenn.Born in small-town New Concord, Ohio, nothing about his beginnings hinted that he would one day carry America’s hopes during the darkest hours of the Cold War. He learned to fly at 16. After Pearl Harbor, he joined the Marines and flew 59 combat missions in World War II. Then came Korea — 63 more missions — where he shot down three Soviet MiG-15s in the final nine days of the war.NASA called in 1959. Out of 500 of the best military pilots in the country, Glenn was chosen as one of the Original Seven astronauts. On February 20, 1962, the world held its breath. Strapped into a capsule the size of a phone booth atop a rocket, John Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth. Three orbits. Five hours. And a faulty heat shield that threatened to turn his reentry into a fireball broadcast live on television. He never flinched. He flew it home.New York threw him a ticker-tape parade with four million people — bigger than the one that celebrated the end of World War II.Then President Kennedy grounded him. He was too valuable to lose. So America’s greatest astronaut was told to sit on the sidelines. For 36 years, he lived with that. Then, in 1998, at age 77, John Glenn climbed back aboard a spacecraft and returned to orbit — becoming the oldest human being ever to leave Earth. He didn’t do it for glory. He did it because being grounded was the only thing in his life that had ever beaten him.And John Glenn did not do defeat.

On May 3, 1898, in Kyiv, the outstanding Golda Meir was born. “If you want to build a country to which its sons and daughters will return, if you want to build a country people leave only for vacations, if you want to build a country that does not fear for its future, then take just two steps: Equate corruption with treason against the homeland, and treat corrupt officials as traitors — down to the seventh generation. Make three professions the highest paid and most respected: the military, teachers, and doctors... And most importantly — work, work, and work. Because no one but you will defend you, no one but you will feed you, and your country is needed only by you and no one else. When this becomes not just words or slogans, but your way of life — then you will have achieved your goal…” Golda Meir was the first female Prime Minister of Israel, one of its founders, a successful politician, and a true “Iron Lady.” She was an exceptional figure in a deeply patriarchal political world, known for her iron determination combined with charm, warmth, uncompromising principles, and complete devotion to her country. She passed away on December 8, 1978, at the age of 80.

Since 421 AD, Venice has stood on millions of tree trunks stuck into the clay bottom of the lagoon. Not steel or concrete, but mostly alder, with a few oaks, support the entire city. In the salt water, these wooden pillars have petrified over time, becoming as hard as stone. St. Mark's Campanile alone stands on 100,000 piles, while the majestic Basilica della Salute required over a million trunks. The ancient builders beat these trees into the seabed, creating a veritable submerged forest. This unique structure extends up to three meters deep, with piles spaced just half a meter apart. At 1.6 meters below the waterline, this extraordinary feat of medieval engineering continues, after 1,500 years, to support one of the most fascinating cities in the world. See the young man in this picture? He was 18 years old when it was taken at the train station in Mobile, Alabama, in 1952. There is $1.50 in his pocket. In that bag by his foot are two changes of clothes. (And if his mama was anything like most other mamas in the South, probably some sandwiches and other snacks.) He was on his way to Indiana to take a job. He was going to play baseball for the Indy Clowns of the Negro Leagues. Apparently, he was pretty good at it. A couple of years later, he was signed by the (then minor league) Milwaukee Brewers. He played for the Brewers for 2 seasons, then moved across town to the Braves, and later followed them to Atlanta. Eventually, he was the last Negro League player to be on a major league roster. He still hangs around the baseball world. At the moment, he's the senior vice president of the Atlanta Braves. Even though the team has changed stadiums (twice) since then, his retired number, 44, still hangs on the outfield wall of the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium near where he belted a homer to break Babe Ruth's all-time record (which he held for 33 years). His name is "Hammerin' Hank" Aaron. ⚾️ 🧢 👏🏿 Cc:Fight For Equality
