@BenjiNaesen Criticism isn’t some optional side quest for keyboard warriors; it’s the damn lifeblood of any society worth a damn.

@ryangrim brother, a joke while the American F15 air crew is still MIA in hostile territory, possibly already captured and facing torture or worse....what are we doing here ?

.@megynkelly: "No one should have to die for a foreign country. I don't think those service members died for the United States. I think they died for Iran or for Israel... No one is crying that the Ayatollah is dead, but our government's job is not to look out for Iran or Israel. It's to look out for us."

@velovelovelo__ Arguably? It’s not much of an argument. Maybe you can say DelTorro hasn’t been in the same races as Pogacar but his palmares is definitely not better.

The 22-year-old’s palmarès already arguably stacks up better head to head with Pogačar at the same age. velo.outsideonline.com/road/power-ana…

It’s important that you understand what happened last night.
Last night, Stephen Colbert interviewed Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, a candidate who, by all accounts, is on track in the polls to flip Texas blue.
In response, Trump’s FCC reportedly threatened CBS if the interview aired.
CBS caved and pulled the segment, citing “financial reasons.”
In modern American history, no president has been more hostile to free speech than Donald Trump.
But censorship always backfires.
Here’s the full segment Trump didn’t want you to see.

@Roadman_Podcast Dude! Ima guy and I have stories like this as well. Almost every week.

Every woman I know who rides has a story about a guy who couldn't handle getting passed
Sarah came home from a ride last week and told me about some lad who caught up to her on country lanes, didn't say a word, just sat on her wheel.
Uninvited. Silent. Out in the middle of nowhere.
I don't think this is a cycling etiquette debate. That's just creepy.
Week before that, she passed someone. Just riding at her endurance pace. She got maybe 200 meters ahead when he came sprinting back around her, clearly twisting himself inside out, zone 4 or higher, just to get back in front.
I mentioned this to a few female friends who ride.
Every single one had similar stories.
I've created two new characters in my head.
The uninvited wheelsucker & the fragile ego guy who can't let a woman stay ahead so he burns matches he doesn't have just to restore some imagined natural order.
I find myself now (sitting on the toilet 😂) scanning Strava files searching for the flat endurance ride with one massive power spike
One of the characters has struck 😂
If your sense of self requires every woman you encounter to be slower than you, you might need to reexamine that identity.
Wake up call, girls are good at cycling!
I won't last 5km in a female world tour race.
This is a public service announcement post - don't be one of "those guys"
You think nobody notices. Everyone notices.
The women you're creeping out notice.
Other riders notice and avoid you.
Cycling culture talks about respect.
About looking out for each other.
Competence isn't gendered.
Performance isn't gendered.
Only insecurity is.

@PatriotVerity That’s been disproven. Even the accidental discharge claim is not proven. The US Army uses that same handgun for its side arm.

Another example occurred in 2022, when a staff sergeant at U.S. Aviano Air Force base in Italy loaded a mag into his Sig Sauer P320-M18, released the slide, and it fired. The safety was on. No fingerprints were on the trigger. It was a mechanical failure.

Alex Pretti: Evidence his gun may have been defective
Gun rights advocate @TaylorDRhodes2A made a video 5 months ago showing the same gun Alex Pretti was carrying can accidentally discharge.
Some people are speculating the first shot heard in the footage was Pretti's gun after an officer removed it from his belt, after they shout "GUN GUN", and the second officer reacted with the next shot.
Did the gun go off unprompted?!?
If that's the case, ICE agent/liability debates aside, Alex Pretti's family could probably sue Sig Sauer (the manufacturer of the P320 pistol).
This video shows repeatable unprompted discharge.
