150 yrs ago. A re-named St Mirren CC had completed 1st season of cricket in 1875. It had played under different name for perhaps couple of seasons; there’s no record of matches to be found. By March 1876, it was beginning to look to leasing a home field for the new cricket season

St Mirren Football Club is pleased to confirm that our appeal against the red card shown to Richard King during Saturday’s match against Motherwell has been successful and the defender will be available for this weekend’s match away to Livingston. While we are pleased with this outcome, we are frustrated by the decision taken on the field and the requirement to go to an appeals process. We are determined to work together with the Scottish FA’s refereeing department to ensure standards will improve for the benefit of our supporters and the wider Scottish game.

@ChippyB1964 Our club MUST write to SFA. There is some form of unconscious bias at play. I don't think they are actually corrupt, but something is definitely occurring. For the avoidance of doubt - Saints are not alone in suffering thus.

Motherwell have hammered Saints tonight. Fair play. But what about the standard of refereeing and VAR officials . It's utterly appalling. How can it continue to be so bad?

📆 Our @ScottishCup quarter-final against Partick Thistle will take place on Sunday 8th March with a 7:30pm kick-off. Ticketing arrangements will be announced in due course.

@Stephen4_2 I think there were significantly more than the reported 27,000 that managed to get in that night. Very fortunate there were no serious casualties.

St Mirren v Celtic SC replay 1980. 27,000 in old Love Street that night. Authorities blundered by not making it ticket, Miracle there wasn't casualties. Celtic played with 10 men for 105 minutes and never used one sub. That Celtic team were super fit, John Doyle's finest hour.

@saintmirrenfc fans of @weirbuddie age will remember former player Bobby Holmes who in the mid to late 1950s was revered by fans. Capped at U23 and Scottish League but forced to retire just prior to Scottish Cup win in 1959 @StewartGilmour1 @alistair_aj @ChippyB1964
