@ChiroShahin I would be lying to you if I said it doesn't bother me that the price drops again after a rally. We have experienced this kind of "pump and dump" often over the past year. I hope this changes after mainnet and that we finally get sustainable pumps.

It’s not weird at all, it’s just how separate trading pairs work on Coinbase (and most other exchanges). The QNT/USD chart and QNT/USDT chart are pulling data from two completely independent order books/markets. QNT/USD pair: This is you trading Quant directly for actual U.S. dollars (fiat money in your Coinbase cash balance). QNT/USDT pair: This is you trading Quant for Tether (USDT), the stablecoin that’s supposed to be worth $1 but lives in your crypto wallet. Each pair has its own buyers, sellers, liquidity, and last-traded prices. Supply and demand in one can temporarily push the price a bit higher or lower than in the other. Coinbase displays the chart based on the most recent trades in that specific pair, so the numbers you see on the two charts can (and often do) differ. A $1+ spread on QNT (currently trading roughly in the $75–$80 range) is only about 1–1.5%. That’s noticeable but not unusual for a mid-cap token like Quant, which has far lower volume than BTC or ETH. Thin order books mean prices can drift more before arbitrage bots or traders jump in to close the gap. Why the gap isn’t instantly closed: -Arbitrage isn’t free or instant. To profit from the difference you’d buy low in one pair and sell high in the other, but then you’re left holding USD vs. USDT. -Converting between fiat and stablecoin has fees, possible withdrawal/transfer delays, and limits. For small edges, it’s often not worth it. -USDT itself isn’t perfectly $1. It’s usually hovering very close to $1 (like $0.9995–$0.9998), which would only explain a few cents of difference on QNT (not a full dollar). -Trader preferences matter. Some people prefer USDT (faster, no bank involvement, easier for crypto-to-crypto moves). Others stick to USD (no stablecoin risk). That creates slight imbalances in each pair. -Liquidity differences. The USD pair often sees more volume from U.S. users, while the USDT pair attracts international or pure-crypto traders. Lower liquidity in one = bigger temporary spreads. This is totally normal behavior you’ll see on Coinbase Advanced Trade (or any exchange that offers both fiat and stablecoin pairs). The charts aren’t “wrong”—they’re just showing two different real-time markets. The difference usually stays small (pennies to a dollar or two) and corrects itself over time as people trade back and forth.

Someone please explain to me why the chart on Coinbase for $QNT has a full $1 plus different when comparing the price against USD vs USDT. More than full $1 spread. Pretty weird in my eyes.
