White House counterterrorism czar Sebastian Gorka says there must be limits to freedom of speech, like "incitement" (as defined by the government). "There are things within our laws that you are not allowed to say, right?"

The US Healthcare System is a scam This American needed a refill on his prescription, so he made an appointment He went to the appointment, paid his $25 copay and was told the medication couldn’t be renewed because it’s been over a year since it was written He says okay no problem, I’m here now, let’s renew it with a new prescription They say they can’t do that the doctor isn’t there to write it. He would have to come back tomorrow That doesn’t make any sense because they had him make the appointment, pay the $25 copay and now they’re telling him to come back again for the same thing, and pay the copay again The doctors office confirms they will have to bill for 2 appointments for the same thing This is a scam This is SO COMMON in America. We’ve all experienced it, it happens all the time He was so mad he said forget it and won’t be back. Now he doesn’t have his medication We need healthcare reform. We should not have to accept this

🦔Amazon employees are using an internal AI tool called MeshClaw to automate unnecessary tasks to inflate their token consumption on company leaderboards, according to the Financial Times. The company set targets requiring 80% of developers to use AI weekly, then started tracking token usage on internal leaderboards earlier this year. Amazon says the data will not affect performance reviews, but multiple staff confirmed managers are monitoring it anyway. MeshClaw can initiate code deployments, triage emails, and interact with Slack. Amazon is spending roughly $200 billion on AI capex this year. Meta employees have been engaged in similar "tokenmaxxing" behavior on their own leaderboards. My Take This is what happens when a company spends $200 billion on infrastructure that needs to justify itself. The easiest internal metric to point at is usage, and usage targets create exactly this behavior because they always do. Employees graded on token consumption will generate token consumption, regardless of whether the underlying work needed it. It is the Goodhart's Law version of corporate AI rollouts, where the moment you make a measure into a target, it stops being a useful measure. The bigger issue is what this says about the productivity case for AI inside large enterprises. If genuine value were obvious in the work itself, leaderboards would not be needed. Amazon tracks how often developers use the tools while telling them the tracking will not affect performance reviews, which suggests management still does not have a clear answer on whether AI is actually moving output. KPMG's study showed enterprise AI spend averaging $178 million per company with most executives reporting no productivity impact after three years, and BCG's research showed using AI well makes work doubly effortful for most knowledge workers. The Amazon employees gaming MeshClaw are the rational response to a measurement system that does not yet know what it is measuring. Hedgie🤗

NEW: 25-year-old elementary teacher arrested after allegedly admitting to her husband that she was cheating on him with a teenager. Mackenzie Naught, a teacher in Whitman County, Washington, was reportedly friends with the boy's family. She allegedly pressured the teen to meet up with her in the middle of the night. She was "being flirty" with the teen in Snapchat messages while her husband was asleep. Naught then pressured the teen to pick her up from her home around 2 am. They then drove to a location, and they allegedly had s*x in the bed of the truck, according to local reports. "Court documents say Naught’s husband reportedly found evidence on her phone that allegedly showed that she had sexual contact with a 16-year-old boy," the Lewiston Tribune reported. The husband, who has been married to Naught for four years, provided evidence of the alleged crime to the police. Naught has reportedly been a teacher at St. John-Endicott Cooperative Schools since 2025. She was charged with felony first-degree s*xual misconduct with a minor. Video: KREM 2.

ALERT: Girlfriend of Los Angeles chef starts sobbing on camera after his own worker spilled the beans on his stashed gun to ICE. Carlos Lool was picking up supplies for his popular Los Angeles restaurants, La Granja Rotisserie and Fuego Rotisserie, when ICE detained him. Lool was charged with a felony, second-degree assault, in Connecticut in 1997, and a former employee tipped off ICE that he had a firearm stashed in the restaurant, which violates his parole. His girlfriend, Jenna Lawrence, said he needed the gun for protection after multiple broken windows and break-in attempts. Lawrence stated, “He’s been in this country. His kids are here. It’s just a lot and it’s very overwhelming… and he doesn’t have his clothes, no cell phone, no computer… and we own businesses.” Lool also has multiple DUIs and failures to appear in court. It is unclear whether Lool is in this country legally after originating in Guatemala.

Trump did this. It's not going to go down anytime soon. It'll be 4.1% in another month or two. By the Fall, it'll be higher than that. Republicans lose both the House and the Senate. It's a fait accompli now. The GOP becomes a permanent minority party for a generation.

Costco Toilet Paper Shrinkflation The robbery in America never ends We need to federally regulate Shrinkflation with mandatory label requirements Require companies to clearly label downsized products. Labels like “Now 15% less” for a set period of time after the change This isn’t even controversial, it’s mandatory in other countries France: Since July 2024, large retailers must flag reduced-size products that haven’t had a price cut. Hungary: Large stores must display notices at entrances and next to products (from 2024). Brazil: Mandatory declaration on labels for 6 months. South Korea: Fines up to $7,300 for failing to notify consumers of size changes. Austria, Italy, Romania: Similar specific anti-shrinkflation laws with labeling obligations.
