@zachbussey And to put it in perspective, Twitch revenue for DJ is very insignificant. A live gig for me is equivalent to about four months of streaming on the Twitch platform.

Twitch will soon require DJs to share part of their revenue with the music industry. "We're going to have a structure, where we are going to have to share money with the labels, it doesn't come for free... we're going to split whatever the cost is." #TwitchNews #TOSg

@zachbussey And majority of the DJs, on twitch are not making any significant revenue from this platform. They’re doing it out of passion to keep connecting with audiences, and because twitch was the only place during lockdown that wasn’t immediately shutting off live streams for DJs.

@zachbussey Since Twitch is owned by Amazon, can’t the Amazon Music deals and licenses somehow be ported over to the Twitch platform?

@zachbussey If it is expected that the DJs we have to track everything and turn in playlist, this is going to be an extremely cumbersome extra step that is going to drive away a lot of the channels.

@zachbussey So Twitch already takes 50% of the revenue, and now record companies will take a percentage of what’s left? This will be an impossible thing to track because DJ streams are much more complex than the simple BDS detections on Radio Station.
