@Brocklesnitch There was a period in time when the US didn’t have backstreet boys! And when they did release an album there, it was a mix of songs from the first two albums we had had in Aus/Europe, meaning ‘Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)’ was on their US debut 🙃

Americans didn’t have Murder on the Dance Floor and English people didn’t have The Nanny….somehow this explains something

@slamup Our school does this at their end-of-semester celebrations. They’ll have a bookseller in the library, & kids pick a book, pay & write their name on a slip. When the book goes into the library it has a ‘donated by’ sticker in the front. We bought ITSOTT at the one we just had 😘

Every Book Week at school, Mum used to buy a book for each of us and make us take it in to the school library and donate it. I can’t remember if lots of families did this, or just ours. Does anyone else have any recollection of doing this? And is it still a tradition?

If you edit my books, you get to deal with stuff like this where even one tiny punctuation edit throws the entire poem out of whack and then it takes half an hour to fix it. It’s fun! Come join us!🤨🤣😂😭😭😭

So thrilled about this book - it has been such a long time in the making. I want all kids to have the opportunity to fall in love with poetry the way I did. Hopefully there’s a poem in there for everyone! Now available for pre-order. Out June 7.

@vic_reader (How perfect is that emoji?) I do this, but "e" because "letter" – and stationary with an "a" because "car"

Wondering if other editors (or writers) have particular ways of remembering spellings. I never type "bourgeois" without thinking "bor-jee-oyce", or "manoeuvre" without saying to myself "man-oh-ee-oover"

@_budgie Publishing emails (esp kids’ publishing emails ) were already a fairly informal land of ‘hurrah!s’ and ALL CAPS EXCITEMENT and kissy sign-offs, but the pandemic unleashed the emoji and the genie ain’t going back in the bottle 🥰🥳😇

@msmisrule I was beside myself. I was sixteen or so, and I remember my mum coming home and finding me on the lounge room floor, crying. For years, I’d just have to think of Carter seeing her and I’d be 😭

@ChrenKali It is the most amazing, glorious, indulgent experience to spend four days talking all things editing! 😍 I wish editors from all levels of experience got to do this on an annual basis!
