Congrats to former grassroots veteran @ChrisAlesi on his new position as head coach at @QCKnightsMBB. For those that don't know Chris, let us give you the rundown on him. He is the son of legendary @XaverianBB head coach Jack Alesi and is a native of the Grymes Hill section of Staten Island and is a 2001 graduate of @XaverianHS in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. After playing collegiate basketball at @BaruchCollege and at @QCKnights, respectively, he went on to coach at @XaverianBB for 10 years as an assistant under his father (2006-16) and would lead the Brooklyn Clippers program, while also coaching programs such as @NewHeightsNYC, @NYRhoops and @NJShoreshotBoys. He recently coached at Division III @GoValiants, where he had an 80-57 record and two appearances in the @SkylineConfD3 championship game. Look out for him moving forward.

“We’re on these guys. We stress them in practice. We put a lot of pressure on them on a daily basis to do the right things, to do everything hard, to do everything tough, to be prepared because that’s what it takes to win a game like this,” Dan Hurley The fearless heart of relentless competitors has no fear.

I asked Dan Hurley about how his Catholic faith shapes him as a coach. "My faith, in tough times, gives me the strength to endure the difficulties, the challenges that life presents... it gives me a humility to not celebrate these great successes and to live with humility."

Sources: Syracuse is working to finalize a deal to hire Siena coach Gerry McNamara as the school’s next head coach, per me and @jeffborzello. McNamara won a national championship as a player at Syracuse and led Siena to the NCAA Tournament this year.

Bill Raftery is 82. Calling his 6th game with only a day of rest and hasn’t aged my entire life. The man is the definition of a living legend. ONIONS!
