Anthony Kim’s impressive comeback today meant he got to fulfill a dream of having his daughter and wife run onto the green to celebrate with him. He spoke about what it meant after the victory in Adelaide: “Best moment of my life so far. “Obviously when Bella was born, Emily and my life changed. But to be able to share this moment, even though Bella won't understand it, one day she will, and for her to be able to run on the green and see her dad isn't a loser was one of the most special moments of my life.” AK’s story is well publicised. His battles with mental health and addiction led him into some deep, dark holes. But his return to glory is one of the greatest comebacks the sport has ever seen. So, what will he tell his daughter about his journey? “I will tell her that before she came into this world that I didn't feel any purpose in my life. Whether you have a lot of money, whether you have a lot of success in your life, you still can feel lonely and feel like the world is against you, and that's in your own mind because I had a lot of people rooting for me. Obviously you saw out there how many people were rooting for me. “But I just want her to know that no matter how bad your day is, if you keep fighting, you never lose. “Hopefully she takes that with her for the rest of her life.” And now that AK has won again, how is he planning to celebrate? “I might actually watch the movie "Frozen." I don't know, man. I didn't plan this far. I planned to be contending to win golf tournaments, but I haven't gotten this far. “But I'm going to enjoy my time here in Australia. We're going to be here for two more days and we're going to go see the kangaroos and the koalas, maybe some giraffes. So that's my fun.” AK’s comeback after struggles with mental health and addiction is a truly incredible story that will resonate with a lot of people. Especially with how the birth of his daughter has helped give him purpose in life. His play on the golf course today was inspiring, but his transformation off it is even more so. When Anthony Kim was relegated from the LIV Golf League, he could have walked away from the game forever. Instead, he went to work and utilised The International Series, LIV Golf’s pathway system, to earn his way back. AK spoke about his journey with Flushing It Golf: “It would have been easy for me to hang it up, and obviously, I was extremely disappointed. But, you only get better by learning from your mistakes. “In the past, when things weren’t going my way, I would pack it in. And I didn't want to make the same mistakes, because what am I teaching my daughter? Am I teaching her, "Hey, when things get tough, and it's not your day, you should just hang it up?” No. Still keep trying. And as long as my body holds up, I'm not going to stop trying. “So, I fully intended to get back on LIV Golf. My belief in myself has never gone away. I think it's very evident to anybody that I believe in myself. No matter what anybody says, I’m fully capable of winning golf tournaments. I just need to keep working and if I do that, a lot of doors will open.” When AK phoned for this interview, he’d just finished a lengthy practice session after a long day of media commitments, once again showing his new dedication. His short response when asked if he has caught the golf bug again, was classic AK: “I’ve got the bug not to suck.” So, what is he doing to avoid sucking? “I’m always working on my short game. I spend most of my time on the chipping green. I then finish up hitting balls on the driving range, hitting full shots. But my practice revolves mostly around putting and chipping. And then when I'm on the driving range, I just hammer my setup. “With every swing I make, setup is what I'm concentrating on because I might not be as smart as some of the other guys that know launch and club angle, and all those trackman things. But I know that if I make two good turns that I'm going to be in good shape. “When I'm swinging it well right now with the stuff Matt Killen and I have worked on, I think I'm swinging as good as I've ever swung it. Now, that doesn't mean great scores, but it at least gives me the confidence that when I am on, I'm going to be able to take it low. And I'm hoping that happens early this season.” AK has made massive improvements over the last few months, securing his first top 5 since his comeback at the PIF Saudi International and finishing solo 3rd at the LIV Golf Promotions Event. So, after getting relegated from the LIV Golf League in 2025, is the goal for his return to finish in the Lock Zone for this season and avoid the same fate? “If I just target finishing in the lock zone I should not be playing. “I know there's some great players out there, some guys, obviously, with major calibre pedigree. But, I would be lying to say that I don't expect to be contending to win tournaments, and that's my goal. I'm not trying to finish second. I want to win everything I play in. That's just who I am. And, I always refer to my daughter, but I want my daughter to see that. “When you get a chance to step on somebody's neck, you got to go ahead and do that. When I signed up to start playing LIV, the ultimate goal was to have my wife and my daughter run out onto that green. And I knew it was a small chance that would happen, but with the progression I've made, I don't see why that can't happen.” Interview continues in quoted post. @AnthonyKim_Golf

Nothing gets me going like building programs that produce championship conditions, and can withstand challenges, like our recent cold weather and traffic. When a superintendent trusts you to collaborate on greens and short grass, they are trusting you, to some degree, with their reputation, livelihood and mental health, none of which I take lightly. #nofilter

@CraigCPratt I am with you kiddo. And like I told @LinksNation the other night the golf around here is already pretty underrated and has been for too long. My story is Sarasota/Bradenton started getting exponentially better about 17 years ago when a certain primate moved to town. Haha

This is Hogan (dog). Hogan is not a fan of near freezing temps, & this PFC bandana didn’t help much. Hogan is a nominee for the @LebTurf Dog of the Year at the 2026 @GCSAAConference. Vote for Hogan-if he wins, we’ll send owner Mike Fasy of Cypress Lake GC a proper winter coat!

Ended our Florida trip with a great day and great host at Belleair CC. I've always said I don't like Florida golf, turns out I was just playing the wrong courses! The west course is so good and so rich in history. The land movement and accompanying creek that winds through the property make for some really interesting holes, starting with #3. The cop mounds Ross used add to the challenge and the beauty. The holes pressed up on the water aren't just beautiful, but thoughtfully designed. Grateful I got to get my tail whipped by my two boys...great memories! If you get the invitation, make sure to jump on it. Can't wait to go back and play the East after the renovation is completed!

The negative? I’m 75 minutes away from telling my non English speaking employees that NLT’s lease has been terminated and I have no idea what the future of their employment may be. Surreal start to the new year.

Another normal day. Wake up, get a coffee, turn on the TV, and see one of the golf courses I maintain on local news the moment the screen illuminates. The positive? The greens look pretty damn good for January.
