This is the lowest I've ever felt supporting us. I thought it was bad under Chansiri but there was always hope that someone would be out there to oust him. At the moment, I feel we're getting nowhere fast with seemingly no light at the end of the tunnel. #swfc

@nathanswfc04_2 Can we command 2m given we're in dire straits. Can't see us getting seven figures, especially as he's so young and inconsistent

If we get owt over 2mil it’s a no brainer, gotta learn from our mistakes and cash in when he’s in somewhat decent form instead of waiting it out cos he’s had a purple patch and losing him for nowt

Hearing that a few teams are now keeping tabs on #SWFC’s Charlie McNeill, with suggestions that one or two may be tempted to make a move this window… Could be a tough decision for the club, who are already threadbare - but also aren’t flush with funds. thestar.co.uk/sport/football…

Barry Bannan is an absolute legend and it's admirable what he did, staying on in the summer, but he must be seriously questioning his sanity, deciding to remain for this. #swfc

Otegbayo down for a minute with a head injury and ref plays on. First half, QPR player down for a minute holding his hamstring and ref decides to stop game with #swfc in possession.

@_GeorgeSmith99 I think you're giving Chansiri too much credit for even suggesting there may have been one, unfortunately.

@Hank83416250473 There's so many creators out there that the club have missed a trick with over the years. That's why we've ended up with some of the outdated, stale rubbish we have in the shop.

It's madness that we've been punished severely X2 for the former owner's incompetence. Now, if we don't make sure he's protected by getting some of the money back he wasted, WE get punished again. Give it to the creditors that deserve it, who he neglected so badly. #swfc

Heading back to the bliss of paternity leave. Back mid-January, though I rather suspect that won’t be the case! To those that celebrate; have a really wonderful Christmas. #SWFC🦉

🚨Re Wednesday takeover latest, as first reported by @robstaton, understand preferred bidder to be James Bord-led consortium. Wording of ‘intend to’ in statement down to technicality. As reported by @reluctantnicko, gather a substantial non-refundable exclusivity deposit has been paid. Reported a couple weeks ago one of interested parties had engaged a surveying firm to take a more forensic look at Hillsborough Stadium over two days - my understanding has been that this was Bord’s group. Also reported that others were involved in consortium. No indication this includes Bahrainis engaged in project at Cordoba at this stage. Identity of others not yet crystal clear but had heard of potential investment from Europe and US. Process now moves to EFL vetting stage - with forthcoming IFR powers to be of consideration. Could be a number of weeks - can’t think Christmas will help speed process. Concerns over this stage were reported but statement suggests confidence these have been ironed out. Any easing of current recruitment restrictions not necessarily expected until club exit administration - though with more injuries this week you can’t help but wonder whether it’ll become a necessity. As was always likely to be case, highest bidder ultimately got the nod. Statement suggests £30m threshold cleared, which would mean no -15 points deduction heading into next season. Will be interesting to hear more detail as things progress. Plenty yet to come to light! Let’s see where it goes. #SWFC🦉

@YesWeCrann Why don't we know who the consortium is? Seems abit strange nobody seems to know anything about his backers.

I suppose it’d be unfair to judge James Bord’s #SWFC consortium until we know who it’s made up of and their full intentions… This whole saga is still far from over, too, so there are no guarantees in any of this. Sounds on-the-fencey, but we really just have to wait this out.

You can’t be a millionaire and buy a football club like #SWFC. You need to be a billionaire, or backed by a serious fund. A quick back of the envelope estimate: Purchase price: £15–30m Immediate stabilisation cash (wages, HMRC, suppliers, legal, admin) Squad investment over 2–3 windows (fees + wage uplift) Stadium deferred maintenance & compliance (Hillsborough, safety, capex) Training ground & academy upgrades Operating losses / working capital (2–3 years) Total real commitment: £100–150m Now the bit people miss: this isn’t funded with “wealth on paper”. It’s funded with liquid money. Any credible owner needs 30–40% liquid on day one to survive shocks: 30–40% of £100–150m = £30–60m cash And because football is volatile, you need depth behind that. That’s why serious owners are usually worth 5–10× what they commit: £100–150m × 5 = £500–750m net worth (minimum) £100–150m × 10 = £1–1.5bn net worth (comfortable) So if someone is “worth £100m”, they’re not buying SWFC. They’re buying the first year and hoping nothing goes wrong.
