I have a NC meaning I can’t work for a competitor for 12 months but if I leave my work I have to give 3 months’ notice to any other job. Because most F1 engineers are in for life, forcing a NC would harm a persons’ career

Gardening leave is after someone resigns the company they work for doesn’t want them to work for anyone else (like a competitor) for 3 or 6 months so they send them home with pay.
